Partnering for Success
Thank you families for partnering with us and meeting with your student's teacher this week. We hope you found these conversations valuable to continuing the educational success of your student. It's incredible to think back to four years ago when our schools closed and we transitioned to online learning. We've weathered the pandemic together and now students are back in classrooms, smiling, collaborating, sharing, and thriving! Our school would not be where it is today without your collective support.
As a reminder, Trimester Two Grades are LIVE on the PowerSchool Parent Portal! Get a sneak peek at how well your student did. Report cards are traditionally distributed during parent conferences. For support on how to access your students PowerSchool Portal account visit SDUSD PowerSchool Parent Portal Website (link).
Congratulations to 4th GRADE for winning Week 2 of the March Madness reading challenge. They read a total of 4,671 pages!
California School Parent Survey
Make your voice heard! As part of our Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP), parents have the opportunity each year to anonymously share their viewpoints on how effectively the school is meeting their child's needs.
It also provides data on the scope and nature of parent involvement at the school (relationships, activities) and in the child's education in general. CSPS identifies which needs and concerns of parents schools should address in promoting greater involvement. Asking parents to provide their perceptions of the school is an empowering parent-involvement activity.
Please take a moment to complete the survey before March 22nd. Our goal is for 100% participation from our families. Click here: California School Parent Survey - Fletcher Elementary School. (When opening the link, choose parent survey/take survey, then select language).
Leader In Me - Measurable Results Assessment
The second survey we need your support completing is the Measurable Results Assessment. This is part of our Leader In Me programming at Fletcher. Your opinions voiced in this survey will shape the areas of focus for our students and team next year. It takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. Thank you in advance for partnering with us on this opportunity for our students! Click here to take the survey: Leader in Me - Measurable Results Assessment

Student of the Week
This week's Student of the Week is Syliva in Ms. Yamashita's class. Sylvia arrives at school with an extra spring in her step. She is happy to be at school, ready to learn. Her attendance is spectacular. Sylvia is a frequent contributor to class discussions. During read-aloud and shared reading, she notices subtle details that readers often overlook. She eagerly raises her hand to share. Sylvia’s Leader In Me leadership role is electric engineer. She adjusts the lights in our classroom depending on the technology used. Sylvia also uses the natural light from windows and doors. She ensures lights are turned off when exiting the classroom. In STEAM, Sylvia is an “Animal Ambassador.” She is exploring the phenomena, how animals survive in their environment. Sylvia will be designing an environment that meets the needs of emperor penguins. She is excited to be working with model clay. Thank you, Sylvia, for being such an incredible Falcon by exemplifying what it means to be a leader at Fletcher Elementary School!
