Egg Harbor Township High School
Week of December 1, 2024
A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
Dear EHTHS Families,
We’re excited to share all the events and achievements from this week, showcasing the incredible talent, generosity, and community spirit of our students and staff!
On Monday, we proudly welcomed the New Jersey Department of Education to observe our exceptional Hispanohablantes program. The visit was a tremendous success! The team was highly impressed by the rich array of literature our students engage with, spanning elementary, middle, and high school levels. We are grateful for the dedication of our staff in fostering this outstanding program.
On Tuesday, our students and staff embraced the spirit of giving by donating blood to the American Red Cross. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated! A special shout-out to Mr. Bell, Ms. Olenik, and our Student Council for organizing this event.
On Thursday, some of our high school and middle school students experienced The Amazing Black History Show by Key Arts Productions. This assembly, made possible through our AP African American History grant, featured music and storytelling to highlight important moments in Black history. Students thought the assembly was great!
Our Interact Club continued their annual tradition of creating thank-you and holiday cards for the Vineland Veterans Home. Thank you to everyone who participated in this act of kindness that brightens the holiday season for our veterans.
Today, our students will hear from motivational speaker Reggie Dabbs, courtesy of the Youth Alliance Organization. His presentation focuses on critical life skills, including making good decisions, building healthy relationships, and resolving conflicts effectively. These messages align perfectly with our mission to create a positive and supportive school environment.

CLIMATE AND CULTURE
🌟 The Youth Alliance Presents...Reggie Dabbs! 🌟
A school-wide assembly is being held today by presenter Reggie Dabbs--a humorous and motivational speaker who discussed aspects of the difficult circumstances he has experienced in his life, and the choices he made to overcome them.
#DAY 1
The High School will be continuing with this bullying-prevention program for the 2024-25 school year!
#DAY1--a staff and student-led philosophy that will serve to foster a building-wide atmosphere of kindness and inclusion, outline expectations for behavior toward each other and the responsibility to intervene, report and to reach out for help if individuals observe bullying behavior.
This program was started a few years ago in Bergen County by the Tyler Clementi Foundation and has gained momentum throughout the state and country for use in schools, community groups, workplaces, and sports teams.
The premise is simple: the adults in the building make a “declaration statement” about behavior that is expected, as well as behavior that is unacceptable, and we all pledge to conduct ourselves accordingly.
This includes seeking help when we witness unacceptable behavior occurring--this notion is called being an Upstander--an #EHTUPSTANDER. Hit the play button below and see for yourself! 🤩
Has YOUR student taken their #Upstander Pledge yet?!?
Have them sign into their school account and click here! 😊
