A Note From Mrs. Bowden....
Parents/Students -
We have been so excited to embrace all the opportunities that this new year has brought. With upcoming school events to classroom activities, there's so much to look forward in this month and the months leading up to the end of school. As we are truly settling back into routines, we encourage our scholars to stay focused and motivated.
Let's work together to make 2025 a year of growth, learning, and success.
With gratitude,
Mrs. Bowden

Dress Code
This year has proven to be more difficult with Dress Code. I ask that you partner with us in ensuring that your student arrives daily in the appropriate Dress to comply with the standards of Leadership Prep. There are consequences with not being in Dress Code. Students are afforded the opportunity to change into clothes from the nurse and to call home. If they choose to not wear the clothes from the nurse until a change of clothes arrive, they will be waiting in the ISS room. Below are the most common that the staff and Administrators are finding. The Dress Code and Examples are found on page 21 of the Parent Student Handbook located on the main page of the LPS website.
Students who do not follow the school’s guidelines for personal attire and appearance may be subject to discipline under the Student Code of Conduct. Additionally, a parent will be contacted to bring an acceptable change of clothing to school, and the student may be assigned to in-school suspension for the remainder of the day until a change of clothes is brought to the school.
At the Secondary Campus, student ID’s must be worn and visible at all times. Students who lose ID cards may replace the card upon request for a $5 fee.
Girls may also wear khaki or navy skirts/skorts, and girls in K-4 may wear khaki or navy jumpers as well. The length must be no shorter than four inches above the kneel, and solid navy modesty shorts are to be worn underneath skirts/skorts/jumpers at all times. * it is not fingertip length as most believe. Please check before your student arrives at school.
- No yoga, cargo, joggers, or athletic-type pants are allowed.
- Shirts must be tucked in all day.
- No flip-flops, sandals, slippers, clogs, crocs, wheelies, light up shoes, platform shoes, wedges, or boots of any kind are allowed. UGG's are boots and are not allowed, including the UGG booties.
Please help by checking your student's uniform daily.
Thank you!
Important Senior Information
Good morning, seniors and senior parents!
Well, the second semester is here and in full swing. Graduation is 17 weeks from tomorrow!! I know everyone is excited and ready to move on to the next chapter. 🙂
I wanted to share a few reminders of LPS graduation requirements. Please be proactive. We want ALL of our seniors to walk across that stage on May 23rd!!
*Senior Defense of Learning presentations will be the week of April 28th-May1st. Sign up will go out on February 12th. All seniors will present to a panel of up to 6 people. Students will be able to invite family, supervisors, pastors/clergy, teachers, etc. I will give out the panel invite list on February 12th. I need to know ahead of time how many people will be in attendance to make sure we have enough room to accommodate.
*Xello lessons need to be complete by May 1st. Grade levels 8-12. Students had all of last year and this year to work on them. Please make sure all lessons are complete by the due date.
*Job shadow hours are due by May 1st. All seniors need 30 hours total between last year and this year.
*Service hours are due by May 1st. All seniors need a minimum of 45 hours. Those students with 150 service hours as of May1st will receive a community service cord at graduation.
Don't want until the last minute. The due date is set in stone, May 1, 2025. Students will not be able to participate in senior skip week nor participate in graduation if all of the requirements are not met.
I have offered assistance multiple times throughout the year and have met with each senior individually. If you need help with any of the requirements, please see me!

Earth Day Tree
Join us in celebrating Earth Week: Register your child for a free tree!
This spring, we are thrilled to announce our participation in Neighborhood Forest's 16th Annual Free Tree Program as part of our Earth Week celebrations from April 22nd to 27th!
Since 2010, Neighborhood Forest has mobilized over 2,000 schools, libraries, and youth groups, engaged over 500,000 volunteers, and given over 197,000 children in all 50 states (and 6 provinces in Canada) the opportunity to plant their very own tree.
Check out their 2024 Annual Impact Report!
We are excited to be participating in this wonderful program that teaches youth about the importance of environmental stewardship through the magic and wonder of planting and watching trees grow.
Please fill out the following online registration form by March 15th and receive a free tree (6-12 inches in size) during Earth Week (April 22-27). The tree species will be announced in early April. Neighborhood Forest aims to provide native and / or fruit bearing trees in all regions they serve.
Register to receive a free tree for Earth Day to plant with your child:
https://www.neighborhoodforest.org/parent-registration/?school=100521
You will also have the option to donate and/or purchase additional trees and tree-related educational products (via the registration form). Please note this is optional and any purchases/donations will help fund more free trees for kids in the program.
Trees will be delivered to us and we will arrange to get the trees in the hands of your children on or around Earth Day (April 22nd) either via pick up or sending home with your child(ren).
Other products that are purchased by you will be fulfilled by Neighborhood Forest.
Instructions on planting and caring for the trees, along with species details, will be emailed a few days before the tree delivery and will also be accessible in the “Resources” section on the Neighborhood Forest website. For further questions, please check out the Parent FAQs.
Thank you for your support and participation. For more information about this program, please visit www.neighborhoodforest.org or www.facebook.com/neighborhoodforest.
LPS is so excited to participate in this program! You can reach out to Lynda Delsol at ldelsol@lpsfrisco.com if you have any questions or would like to assist with distribution in April.
