CISD Tech Weekly Update

We had to mention and give a big shout out to our CISD educators that presented sessions on Feb. 16. There is nothing better than being able to see teachers sharing resources that work in their classroom! A big shout out to Alesha Bayiha and Krystal Lovell for sharing their classroom success stories! Lovell shared her experience with Donors Choose and Bayiha presented on Plickers in the classroom.

Lovell shared the steps she took to apply, request resources and correspond with donors. She was fully funded for her science project which cost approximately $5000! Click on the DONORS CHOOSE image to view Lovell's handout to get you started:

Bayiha shared how she uses Plickers in the classroom. This resource supports interactive teaching, formative assessment, immediate responses and much more. Shout-out to the elementary teachers that attended the Book Creator training last week. Book Creator is a free resource that teachers can use to teach a lesson or create a class book. Students can also make a free account and use it for class projects. If you are already a Canva user, you will love the integration! Adding photos, videos and text in Book Creator has never been easier! Even our youngest students can use the speech-to-text feature to add text to pages. Several teachers that could not make it last week have expressed interest in Book Creator training . We will be offering training again after school on Thursday, Feb. 29 @ the elementary library, so make plans to come and at least set up an account. Come and join us after school! It is a short training, so we should be done by 4:30!
