Hello BHS Students and Families,
I hope you all had a terrific weekend.
This week we have a half day on Friday and our 10th grade students will be taking the math MCAS on Tuesday and Wednesday .
Please see below for many more updates
After Prom-Celebration- we need volunteers!
Attention Seniors!
Celebration is less than a week away, and we have some important information for you. First, every senior at Barnstable High School is invited to our event, and it is totally free. You do not need to attend prom to attend Celebration! Pick up a permission slip from Mrs. MacFarlane (it is on the same slip as prom, but you can just choose Celebration)- we want to Celebrate with you! Second, all guests should dress comfortably. You will be playing, dancing, and relaxing the night away. Wear shorts, t-shirts, sweats, but be prepared to have fun! Finally, pick up your senior stars and bull riding permission slips in Room 1218 if you haven't already. You can return both to Room 1218 or to the field house every day after 4pm.
Attention Families!
With Celebration less than a week away, we recognize there is a lot happening. We are still short 10 volunteers for the overnight. This means areas may not be opened, and events may need to be cancelled. Please sign up here to ensure the event happens as we have planned.
We are also looking for donations of candy for our candy bar. Please bring a bag or 2 of your favorite candy for the kids to snack on throughout the night. Bring your donations as well as senior stars and bull riding permission slips to the field house any day after 4pm. We are still accepting prize donations as well. Those may also be dropped at the field house after 4pm. Stopping by will give you an idea of the spectacular event Celebration is!
Take a look at what Celebration looked like in 2018! There are some slight changes, but the extravaganza lives on for now! https://youtu.be/fxcVzZg6KEY?si=I199ZszNUyi22-_B
If you have any questions email us at bhscelebration@gmail.com, or if you would like to donate to or purchase from our Amazon Registry, click here.
We can't wait to celebrate with your students at the end of the week!

Athletics
5 Good Things
On Monday May 13 the Barnstable boys tennis team defeated a tough Monomoy squad 4-1, securing the 10th win of the season and clinching a post season birth for the 15th time since 2008. First singles player senior Brennan Riley (heading to play at Dickenson College) battled probably the best player on Cape Cod Ryan Casey. It ended up 6-2 6-2. Second singles player sophomore Harry Baroni had his second epic battle in 2 weeks with Gavin McDonnell eventually winning 4-6 7-6 13-11 in a tiebreaker. Third singles player senior Eric Arabadzhiev is still shaking off some rust from missing a couple weeks of play but found his game late and defeated Roman Pavluchenko 7-5 6-1. First doubles team of seniors Mike Higginbotham and Connor O'Reilly had a test in their match but finally prevailed over Connor Francis and Paul Carlson 6-1 7-6. Second doubles also featured seniors Thomas Berger and Andy Coombs who continue their very consistent play winning 6-4 6-4 over Blake Noonan and Ethan Seufert
On Friday, Baseball beat Nauset, 6-3. This win clinched the Cape and Islands League for the team. They are currently ranked 9th in the state and travel to Durfee on Monday for a rematch of last week’s thriller.
Boys lacrosse dominated Whitman Hanson on Friday. It was senior night for the boys and Doug Carr scored 6 times. Earlier in the week, Carr had 8 goals for the Redhawks against Bridgewater Raynham.
The girls golf team beat Monomoy this week to clinch the Cape and Islands league. Riley King, Alexa Garthee and Meghan Garthee will represent the Redhawks tomorrow for the Schoolgirl golf tournament at Cranberry Valley.
Softball beat Nauset on Friday to continue their strong second half of the season.
Fall Sports Night
Hard to believe that we are already thinking about the fall. Fall sports night will be on June 6th at 5 pm in the main cafeteria. The event will be an opportunity for you to meet the coaches and get ready for the season.
Athletic Updates
Social Media-Remember to follow the Athletics department on both X and Instagram for up to date scores, the Week Ahead and game day information.
Team scores- find them here- Arbiter, just select the team you would like to find out about.
Fan Behavior-There have been some questions about what RedHawk fans can/cannot say during the games. The MIAA does not allow for fans to use any foul language, target any one player (by name or number) or any other cheers that could be deemed hurtful. As a school, we want to represent Barnstable in the best way possible. The rule that our community should look at is: Be Loud, Be Disruptive but do not be Disrespectful. If you follow this rule, then you are doing exactly what we ask of anyone wanting to watch our athletes participate and see their hard work pay off. .
Lets go Redhawks!
