MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Good Day All,
The weather in the mornings is certainly getting cooler while it warms up in the afternoons which means we are having a higher number of jackets and sweatshirts left around the school. If you notice your student is missing something, please direct them to the lost and found area near the electives hallway in the commons. There, we hang and place items that have lost their home person. At the end of each quarter we donate all items to The Caring Closet so make sure to tell your student to gather their belongings before the quarter ends.
I’d like to give all parents/guardians a friendly reminder that the front of the school is for bus drop off ONLY from 8-8:30 am. Please use the Walnut Street entrance to drop students off near the tennis courts. Our buses are having a difficult time dropping students off due to the car traffic.
Family partnership (formerly known as parent teacher conferences) days are going to be held in the evening on Wednesday, October 23rd and throughout the day and evening on Thursday, October 24th. There is no school for students on Thursday, 10/24, and Friday, 10/25. I know we are all looking forward to this opportunity to connect.

HAPPENINGS
8th Grade College Visit Day - October 10, 2024
On Monday October 7th the 8th grade students will be assigned the college they are visiting this Thursday, October 10, for the 8th Grade College Visit field trip.
Reminder these are the colleges students chose from:
Oregon State University
Western Oregon University
Linfield University
Pacific University
George Fox University
Oregon Institute of Technology in Wilsonville
Warner Pacific University.
Every student was placed in one of their three top choices. Please note field trip permission slips are due Monday, October 7th. That’s tomorrow!
The students will leave Fowler between 9:00 and 9:30 and most visits will return by 2:00, except the OSU visit, which will arrive back to FMS closer to 3 pm. Classes will only be in session for 6th & 7th grade students on this day.
We are excited to invite you to our Hispanic Heritage Celebration in honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from September 15 to October 15, 2024. The celebration will be held at Fowler Middle School on October 16, 2024, from 5 PM to 8 PM, and we are aiming to make this year’s event even more memorable than the last!
Last year’s celebration was filled with incredible dishes shared by our families and generous contributions from local Tigard businesses. It was a true community effort, with collaboration from CFT, MWW, MET, and THS. We are hoping to build on that success this year. We would love to see more families share a dish from their culture, though it’s completely optional. Sign up here to let us know what you will be bringing.
As we continue to organize this event, we’re welcoming the support of parents and local businesses. Your participation—whether it’s through contributing a dish, donating, or simply attending—will help make this celebration a wonderful reflection of our diverse community.
Thank you in advance for being part of this special event. We can’t wait to celebrate with all of you!
