Welcome Back! I hope everyone had an awesome October break filled with rest, relaxation, time with family, and adventures!
Speaking of adventures, our Falcon High School Marching Band, the Fighting Falcon Regiment, had a large adventure over most of the Fall Break! Towards the beginning, they qualified for the next level of state competition at a local marching festival, sponsored by Fountain-Fort Carson High School. The afternoon before, a special Parent Showcase took place for the band to have a dress rehearsal and show off the spectacular show. You will even see in the pictures below how many of our parents and community members joined in the fun by learning the formations and marching with the band!
On Friday, October 25th, the Fighting Falcon Regiment participated in the Quarter Finals competition at the United States Air Force Academy. After working all through break, and even making some last minutes adjustments to the show, the band performed phenomenally. I was beyond impressed! Marching Band was something I personally enjoyed when I was in High School and I know first hand how many hours of practice it takes to put together a show. The show I saw this past Friday, was OUTSTANDING and reflects an incredible amount of Grit with the work you put forward! The musicality, the synchronization of the marching, the complexity of the formations, and the overall show production was awesome! The level of energy that our students put forward and displayed was incredible. I am so very proud of the production that our FHS Fighting Falcon Regiment put forward; you represented our Falcon Community with a high level of Integrity!
A special THANK YOU goes to all of the parents and community members that supported and helped out with the program. It was awesome to see so many helping to assemble the pit on the field, transport equipment, set up meals for all of the members, support transportation of students and equipment, and much much more. You are to be commended for the amount of Networking and time you put in to this program. Congratulations to our Band Director, Mr. Travis Yager, as the amount of time and effort you put forward promotes a strong level of Self-confidence in your students and program and we are greatly appreciative of all you do!
Congratulations to the Falcon High School Fighting Falcon Regiment for an awesome season! We are so very proud of all of you! I can't wait to see what show we do next year and I can't wait to hear where our Seniors from the program go next!
