Current Seventh Graders to Camp Orkila on October 14-16, 2025 - we still need 29 female chaperones & 34 male chaperones. If we don't have enough chaperones confirmed by June 10, 2025 we will cancel the fieldtrip.

Eckstein Seattle Mariner Night at the Ball Park!
Join your fellow classmates for a night of baseball with the Mariner's! This special offer is for all students and families, and a portion of every ticket sold is a donation to EMS!
If you would like to sit with another family, please place one order for the entire group. Orders are filled on a first come first serve basis and based on availability.

Is Your Student Not Attending Eckstein or SPS Next Year?
If your student is not attending Seattle Public Schools or Eckstein in 2025-2026, please email Ms. Tai, Registrar, (jetai@seattleschools.org) and fill out the SPS Not Attending Next Year (NANY) Form. https://nynotattending.seattleschools.org/. Filling out the NANY Form ensures that SPS Enrollment receives official confirmation from the parent/guardian of your studentβs plan to unenroll.

Smarter Balance Assessment (SBA) β 6th, 7th, 8th grade students
May 7: ELA PT (English/Language Arts Performance Task)
May 14: ELA CAT β plug-in headphones required (English/Language Arts Computer Adaptive Test)

May 28: Math PT
Students are testing with their homeroom teachers. Below you will see the daily schedule for these days. Cellphones are strictly prohibited during testing. Students caught looking at their cellphones for any reason will have their test voided. Please don't text your student during the school day.
To prepare for testing students should:
- Come to School On Time: It is important that your student is on-time to school to make sure we can start on-time.
- Charge laptops Every Night: Students will be testing on their laptops.
- Plug-In Headphones: For the testing on May 14th, students need to bring a pair of plug-in headphones. These can be over the ear or earbud style. They cannot be Bluetooth. We will have a limited number of headphones for students to borrow. We will accept donations if your family has any extra. Please note they do not need to be of the highest quality.
- Good Nightβs Sleep: It is helpful for students to have a good night sleep and breakfast prior to the test. The cafeteria will be open prior to school starting for those who wish to pick up a breakfast.

We Need Volunteers for 8th Grade Pancake Breakfast on June 17, 2025
Tuesday, June 17, 2025 the Eckstein leadership and parent community will put on a pancake breakfast for our 8th grade class as part of the Promotion Day festivities.
Parent volunteers are needed to help cook, serve, and clean-up.
Arrive by 8:30am and we should be all cleaned up by 10:30-11. Please block off the whole time as we really need volunteers who can stay the full time.
This event is SUPER fun and the kids love it! Get ready to cook for 350!

*In the past, parents have made aprons with their child's photo on it-baby/younger photo! The parents will need to coordinate should they want to do it.

Recognize Outstanding Volunteer, Staff and Student Leadership!
Due May 31, 2025. The Eckstein Middle School PTSA is proud to carry out the tradition of presenting the PTSA Golden Acorn, Outstanding Advocate and Outstanding Educator to volunteers and staff that have made a big impact on the Eckstein Community. Please take a moment to share your thoughts, stories, and kudos for individuals you think deserve recognition for their efforts and impact. Nominations can be submitted here. Award categories are:
- Golden Acorn Award: is presented to a school or community volunteer in recognition of her or his dedication and service to children and youth.
- Outstanding Advocate Award: is presented to a staff member, student or volunteer in recognition of continued and dedicated service to ALL children and a demonstrated commitment to helping create strong policies to the health, welfare, safety, and education of children and youth.
- Outstanding Educator Award: is presented to an individual who has made significant contributions in their community to enhance the educational outcomes of all children or youth. An educator is not limited to a teacher and may be defined as a teacher, assistant, specialist, support staff, administrator, or community member.

Following last year's 80s success, our talented staff band "The Flock of Eagles" is tuning their voices and their instruments to bring you the greatest hits of the 90s. This isn't just any performanceβit's teachers and staff showing off talents you never knew they had (unless you attended last year), all while supporting our students.

Where: Seafab Cafe, Seattle
Tickets: $50 per person
This is an age 21+ event.

RHS Boys Basketball Summer Camp Registration
RHS Boys Basketball Summer Camp 2025
Is your basketball player ready to develop their game? Would they like to have fun this summer with cool coaches, counselors and other local players? Have them join the RHS Basketball Team and the Roosevelt Coaching Staff for three days of instruction, competition and camaraderie! Players will work on individual skills such as ball handling, shooting form, passing technique, defensive footwork as well as team skills on both offense and defense.
CAMP DATES/TIMES: Tuesday-Thursday: July 29, 30, 31 from 9AM - 3PM
AGES: Incoming 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th grades
LOCATION: Roosevelt High School Gym (1410 NE 66th St, Seattle, WA 98115)
COST: $300 (Scholarships available for those who qualify)
WHAT TO BRING: Water bottle, basketball, snacks and sack lunch

Lincoln Volleyball Summer Camp
July 9-11 - Rising 5th through 8th graders are welcome to join us for a half day (morning or afternoon) or full day camp run by the Lincoln Volleyball players. Half day sessions are from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm or 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm and are $150 per camper. Full day camp is from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm (lunch not included) and Is $275 per camper. All campers get a t-shirt and all proceeds go directly to the Lincoln Volleyball program.
