NOTES FROM YOUR PRINCIPALS
Dear Titus Family,
As we wrap up the first trimester of our school year, I am filled with pride and gratitude for all the progress we’ve made together.
This week has been a fantastic one, and our students continue to shine with their enthusiasm and positive energy. This week, they greatly enjoyed our Secret Shop which was a huge success! This beloved event provided our students with the wonderful opportunity to experience the joy of gift-giving during the holiday season, and it wouldn't have been possible without the dedication and hard work of our amazing parent volunteers.
A heartfelt thank you to all the parents who contributed their time, energy, and resources to make this event so special for our school community. Your support truly makes a difference, and we are grateful for everything you do.
As we enter the holiday season, I am reminded of the beauty and warmth it brings—not just in decorations or festivities, but in the spirit of kindness, generosity, and joy that fills the air. I see this reflected in our students every day. Their kindness toward one another, their excitement to learn, and their willingness to help make our school community brighter inspire me.
It is truly a gift to witness their growth and enthusiasm as we approach this special time of year. Wishing you a wonderful weekend ahead!
Warm regards.
Your Proud Principal,
Mrs. Helen Sclama Zaleski
Hi Titus Community-
I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving Break. The students knew they had to get back to work this week and they did just that. The energy is still alive in Titus, and we are ready to power through for these next two weeks. The Secret Shop has been a hit, and everyone was excited to shop for their loved ones😊 Mrs. Zaleski was dynamite at wrapping everyone’s gifts, while I helped with the register
I was able to stop by Mrs. Maiese room today and join in on their excitement. A PJ Day and a stuffed animal day to celebrate the birthday of these two twins. Happy Birthday!!!
Have a great weekend everyone!
Your Proud Assistant Principal,
Mr. Dave Filson

K-2 REPORT CARD INDICATOR UPDATE FOR WRITNG
In Central Bucks, we are teaching writing in a systematic and explicit way. Writing develops along a continuum from simple to complex, and our goal is to provide clear and meaningful feedback about student learning on the progress report.
To that end, please look for an email from your child’s classroom teacher that explains the changes. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Student Spotlight - Ethan Ross
In December 2021 Ethan auditioned for George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker with the Philadelphia Ballet. At age 8 we had little to no expectation of him being cast, but to our surprise and delight he was cast as one of the main children’s roles Fritz.
For those not familiar with the Nutcracker, Fritz is Marie’s mischievous brother who breaks the nutcracker and sets the whole story in motion.
Ethan continued to perform the role of Fritz in 2022 and 2023. Last year in 2023 he was also cast for 7 shows as the Nutcracker Prince! This amazing role features a battle with the Mouse King and a pantomime solo in the second act.
This year Ethan will once again perform the role of The Prince!
He will be performing the following dates:
- Sunday 12/8: 12:00 pm
- Sunday 12/8: 5:00 pm
- Sunday: 12/15: 12:00 pm
- Sunday 12/15: 5:00 pm
- Friday 12/20: 7:00 pm
- Monday 12/23: 12:00 pm
- Saturday 12/28: 5:00 pm
On top of all his success in the Nutcracker, in 2024 Ethan also earned top honors at the Youth America Grand Prix, the world’s largest youth scholarship ballet competition. Ethan placed 1st place in Classical Ballet and 2nd place in Contemporary at the Philadelphia regional event. He was then invited to attend the 25th Anniversary World Finals in New York where he placed in the Top 12 in the world.

We are so proud of Ethan!
TITUS SCHOOL DAY
SCHOOL HOURS REMINDER
We are an "A" or early school, and our hours are 8:35 AM to 3:15 PM.
The morning kindergarten session hours are 8:35 AM to 11:10 AM.
The afternoon kindergarten session will run from 12:40 PM to 3:15PM.
START OF THE SCHOOL DAY ...
Please be aware that the school day begins at 8:35 AM in your child(ren)'s classroom(s). If you are a car rider in the morning, it is recommended that children are dropped off no later than 8:30 AM in order to get to their classrooms for the start of the school day at 8:35 AM. If a student arrives in their classroom beyond 8:35 AM, they are considered tardy. Parents will need to come into the building to sign their child in if they arrive after 8:35 AM.
The adults supervising the car-rider drop-off line will be on duty until 8:32 AM. Students dropped off after 8:32 AM will more than likely not be able to make it to their classrooms on time for the start of the school day at 8:35 AM. Also, for safety reasons, students arriving to school prior to 8:15 AM, need to be supervised by their parent/caregiver. We ask that all students wait with their family member in the drop off line until 8:15 AM.

DANCE & BINGO VOLUNTEEERS NEEDED
Hi Titus Families!
We hope you enjoyed a much needed break and that you had the opportunity to spend time with loved ones. As 2024 comes to a close, the HSA is already gearing up for a fun-filled 2025.
We are looking for help with two events coming up at the beginning of the new year. The HSA needs a parent (preferably 2) to chair the K-3 dance this year. The parent coordinating the 4-6 dance has offered to help with the initial planning, but she cannot run both events. Without parent volunteers to chair this event, a K-3 dance will not be held.
We are also in need of parents to help on the 2025 Bingo Committee. This is a great event, but it cannot run without the help of our Titus parents.
If you are interested in helping with either of these events, please email titushsapresident@gmail.com.
Sincerely,
Titus HSA

FLEXIBLE INSTRUCTIONAL DAYS
Info on Flexible Instructional Days, Expectations for Families and Students
A Flexible Instructional Day (FID) is designed for situations where school buildings need to close due to weather or other emergencies, but learning can still continue at home. Utilizing a FID allows us to avoid extending the school year or disrupting the instructional calendar as well as provides an opportunity for students to practice their skills and become more independent learners. Elementary and secondary students and families have certain expectations should a FID be necessary. Complete information, including an explanatory video with a translatable script, can be accessed on our FID webpage.

Homework and Summative Tasks Near Observances
New This Year: Limits on Due Dates for Homework and Summative Tasks Near Observances
In past years, the district has notified faculty in the week or weeks prior to religious or cultural observances to ensure they are cognizant of these events when assigning schoolwork. This year, the district has shared a year-long calendar of these observances with faculty and set guidelines on when no homework or summative tasks should be due.

CBSD Thanks Volunteer Emergency Responders with Tax Rebate

VOLUNTEERS
DON'T FORGET CLEARANCES ...
Titus will expect all potential volunteers to complete their paperwork for clearances prior to assuming any volunteer/chaperone role within the school. This will ensure we are in line with district and state expectations.
Who Needs Clearances: An individual who is responsible for the child's welfare or has direct contact with children. Pennsylvania law requires all persons having direct contact with school children to obtain background checks and clearances. In the best interest of the safety and security of our students, Central Bucks School District required the submission of these clearances prior to volunteering during the school year. Approved volunteers are given an identification card to be presented at the school (along with your photo ID, such as a driver's license) when volunteering. Please allow 7-10 days after you have submitted your online application for receipt of the ID card.
Additional information and steps on how to complete your clearances can be found on our district website by clicking here.
