Weekly Updates for Sept 21 - 25
Message from the Principal
This is week 6 of school and we have started our first week of Phase 2 with more students returning to campus! For the rest of our Jags, we are hoping to see more of you soon. All of this depends on everyone doing their part to stay safe and well during this time. We emailed a survey regarding Phase 3 & 4 this afternoon.
At the end of this week, there is an eligibility report for all students involved in an extra-curricular group/activity/event. All work for this first eligibility check must be turned in by midnight this Friday, 9/25.
Progress reports for the second three weeks will be viewable on the Student/Family Access portals next Wednesday, 9/30. Please continue to work hard and keep up with your work and attendance. When you have a question, please reach out to your teacher first as they can help you directly.
Sincerely,
Gary Comalander - Principal

CTJ Teachers of the Month - September
Phase-In 2 Requirements for students
We have started Phase 2 as of today. During Phase 2, students will be in a single classroom, no more than 10 students per room, with 1 teacher. The following are requirements for each student.
- You must bring your own device to work virtually in a synchronous time with each of your classes.
- You must bring the power cord to keep your device charged.
- Student must have earbuds or headphones to listen to their classes.
- While sitting in the classroom, students will be expected to wear their mask except while eating in a socially distance atmosphere in the cafeteria or courtyard.
- Students will go to the cafeteria for their lunchtime. Students may bring their own lunch or buy their lunch in the cafeteria from a limited menu. Seating will be socially distanced.
- Students will be in one specific classroom all day on M-W-F and another specific classroom all day on Tu-Th. It is based on having the same lunchtime as their teacher.
- Students will be allowed to go to PE and some Elective classes during that class period they have it.
Please understand that changes can be made as deemed necessary.
Attendance & Grades Reminders
After five weeks, the number one battle is with missing work and attendance when a student is not working in the live online classroom. The majority of failing grades are due to a student being 'absent' during the live session and either not logging in through Launchpad to get attendance credit before midnight.
Attendance: please help remind your son/daughter that they must login through Launchpad (especially during asynchronous time) and do the attendance check before midnight each day to gain attendance credit for each class. Going straight to the Zoom link because it is faster will cause attendance issues.
Grades: missing work is increasing each week. Please encourage your son/daughter to get work turned in on time.
We know this is a tough time as kids are often on their own to get up and be online live with the teacher. Please encourage and check with your son/daughter that they are online live as much as possible. Skyward Family Access portal is a great place to check on their progress.
We have finished 5 weeks of the first 9 week grading period. With 4 weeks to go, now is the time to catch up and keep up with work.
We appreciate everything you are doing in these tough times and tough learning situations. Please don't hesitate to contact your child's teacher, counselor, or administrator when needing help or when you have questions.
