A Message from your Principal
Dear Rainier Families,
What an amazing start to the school year! In my eight years as principal, I have never experienced such a smooth and joyful beginning. We were thrilled to welcome 58 new students and their families, and even with this influx, everything has gone wonderfully. Our newly implemented nature-based program has integrated seamlessly into our routines, and we've made some exciting changes to our systems.
Our environmental education class has kicked off, with all 11 grade levels engaging in outdoor learning with Miss Brown each week. We also launched our Nature Art Specialist and Everyday Living classes, where students are gaining practical life skills like sewing, knitting, laundry, and cooking. Our PE program has evolved into Wild Fit (wilderness fitness), and it has been a fantastic success. We’re truly off to a running start!
As we settle into our school routine, we’re excited for what’s ahead in October. This month, we’re launching our after-school Dance Club, Sewing Club and introducing our very first Knitting Club. If you missed the sign up last month. Please click here. We’re also looking forward to our annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest and other fun fall events. It’s shaping up to be a fantastic month!
We are thrilled to kick off our Monthly Award Assemblies once again! Parents are warmly invited to join us as we celebrate student achievements. Our first assembly will take place on Friday, October 11, at 1:30 p.m., where we’ll honor our Rainiers of the Month and Outdoor Explorer Extraordinaires. Two students per grade level will be recognized with awards.
Additionally, don’t miss a special event for the whole family on Thursday, October 10, at 5:30 p.m.—Jeff Evans' Reading Magic! Thanks to our wonderful PTO, this exciting magic show is perfect for students of all ages. We love having parents as part of our learning community and encourage your presence at these events.

🚗 🚌 Parent Drop Off and Pick Up 🚗 🚌
Morning Routine/Drop-offs
If you're driving your child to school in the morning , please kindly drive up and drop off your child at 7:25am. Students will be greeted at the main door by a staff member and may walk to class. Parents do not have to get out of their car.
For parents of students in Ms. Keller and Mrs. Willson's preschool portable class, you are welcome to walk your student to the portable ramp. We encourage fostering independence by allowing your child to walk into the classroom on their own from there.
Additionally, families of students in the TK class, located in Room 112 with Mrs. Kelly and Ms. Millam, will always be greeted by staff near the entrance. They will be there to assist with helping children exit vehicles and ensuring a smooth transition into the building.
Car Rider Dismissal Procedures

- Please make sure to use the form in this link to let us know who will be picking up your student. For safety reasons and per our policy, we no longer accept phone calls or written notes for changes.
- A staff member (wearing a high-vis vest) at the parking entrance entrance know who you are picking up and what grade(s) they are in.
- Adults picking up students at the end of the day will park in our main lot.
- Students who are car riders will be led outside by their teacher at dismissal time.
- We begin releasing students at 2:05pm every day.
