Throughout the week we will read many books. Here are some of the books we will read this week.

First graders need to know an assortment of sight words to help them read. By the end of the school year, our students should know the 1st 100 Fry sight words.

This week will focus on the words: into

Spelling words: kick, back, deck, rock, duck, luck, tuck, sick, neck, quack

Students will focus on words with the spelling pattern final ck

Students will identify alliteration and rhyme.

Students will read words with open and closed syllables.

Students will write a descriptive essay.

Students will write complete sentences.

Students will solve for an unknown number in addition equations.

Students will solve simple subtraction equations.

Students will explore what happens to materials when an irreversable change happens.

Students will discuss what it looks like to be a good citizen.
