Willow Park Building Goals
Willow Park Elementary is a schoolwide Title I school. Each year, the administration and staff meet to review the school’s data to determine a focus on goals and activities for the upcoming school year. Information is collected from various sources including, but not limited to, parent, staff and student surveys, demographic data, achievement data, program data and perception data. This is all compiled to review and make decisions. These plans are laid out in continuous improvement goals that elementary staff will work on throughout the upcoming school year.
The following goals are our focus for the 2024-2025 school year.
Wellness:
To enhance overall learner wellness, by the end of the 2024-2025 academic year, learner Panorama percentages will increase in these areas self-management, social awareness, and emotional regulation by 5%.
Academic:
Willow Park STAR Reading and Math proficiency will increase by 5% from the 2023-2024 school year to the 2024-2025 school year.
Choice Ready:
By the end of the 2024-2025 academic year, learners' self- efficacy: confidence in their ability to overcome challenges and achieve academic success, as measured by Panorama surveys, will increase by 5%
Milk for Snack Break
Elementary learners have milk/snack breaks every day at school. You may purchase milk each semester for them to have during snack break. First semester milk fees will be $40 and can be paid for online via MySchoolBucks or in the school office.
If you currently have a MySchoolBucks account, you will use the store (under the "fees" option) to pay for milk for students to have during snack break. It is a separate tab/payment from lunch money.
Tile I Parents Right to Know
Through federal education law, parents have the right to request information on the professional qualifications of the teachers and paraprofessionals at Willow Park Elementary. If you are interested in learning this information, please contact the school administration office at (701) 356-8360. Upon this request, you will receive a detailed explanation of the licensing, education, and experience of each of our teachers. You will also receive information regarding the names and qualifications of the paraprofessionals at our school.
School Attendance Requirements
North Dakota law contains compulsory attendance requirements for students ages seven through sixteen. West Fargo Public Schools believes there is an intangible benefit associated with being present in the classroom. Students are required to attend school 90% of the academic school year. For more information on the district's attendance policy, review the administrative policy FFB-AP: Attendances & Absences.
If your child will not be in school, please call the school office before the school day begins, with the following information:
- Child's Name
- Child's Classroom Teacher
- Reason for Absence
Unexcused and unverified absences result when no phone call has been received by the school. Repeated unexcused/unverified absences or truancy may result in a referral to juvenile authorities through our SARB process.
If you know in advance that your child will be absent due to an appointment, funeral, vacation, etc., please notify the school office.
