Warrior Weekly
Issue 11 - November 1, 2024
Message from the Principal
Please be reminded that Lunch Detentions are a classroom-driven consequence of student behaviors. It is an opportunity for students to correct their behavior prior to a discipline referral. Students who earn four lunch detentions in a given quarter will be issued with a discipline referral. These forms are presented to students and required to be signed at home. We thank you for your support with student behavior!

Our Warriors enjoyed an eventful week of dress up days, educational presentations from Sgt. Lopez and Deputy Dean, along with K9 Aries, and their pledge to be drug free. Check out our "hand in hand' display of being united against drugs. Thank you to everyone who participated.

Clemson/Carolina Reading Challenge
Represent Your Team
We're well into our 2nd Beanstack challenge, the Clemson/Carolina Reading Challenge and our Warriors are ready for competition! Students need to log their reading minutes (in school and at home) into Beanstack. If they read 300 minutes by November 20th, not only will they complete the challenge but they will also get to place a football on the team bulletin board for either Clemson or Carolina. Who will win this in-state rivalry for WMS? Will it be Clemson or will it be Carolina?
For those students who complete the reading challenge, we would love to be able to send them into The Big Game weekend with some Clemson and Carolina swag. If you are willing to donate any items to represent either team as raffle prizes, we would greatly appreciate it. Items could range from team pencils and notebooks, cups, blankets, pennants, footballs, etc. If you are willing to donate any items by November 15th and have any questions, please reach out to radams@gcsd.k12.sc.us or choppe@gcsd.k12.sc.us.
Thank you so much for encouraging and supporting our students in their reading adventures. You are appreciated more than you know!
