This is the our "5 Year Review" year at the IB World School, and it's a time during which we reflect on our strengths and growth areas as they relate to the IB's international programme standards and practices. We met with faculty representatives and asked staff to complete a survey, and we would love to hear from you as well! We anticipate a visit from the IB at the end of the school year, and they will want to chat with stakeholders.

We are pleased to announce that we were able to match all interested mentees with mentors, and we hope those matches are successful for both partners. Mentors are provided at student request and allow students an opportunity to become friends with an older student familiar with our IB community -- both academically and socially.

The IB is a values-based education, and we have now studied and recognized caring, communicator, inquirer, knowledgeable, and thinker (December). Our IB Booster Club generously donated gift cards,and we randomly choose nominated students from each grade level and a faculty member to receive this treat!

The thinking trait is defined by the IB in this way: " We use critical and creative thinking skills to analyze and take responsible action on complex problems. We exercise initiative in making reasoned, ethical decisions."

We are pleased that our lottery has finished, and we have notified our new students who will be joining us for the 2024-25 school year. We will soon open the application portal again for a "rolling admissions-style" IB World School waitlist, so if your friends missed the initial deadline to apply, they can check our website again on December 18 and submit a late application. Thank you for being such great IB ambassadors!

The IB World School has existed at Plano East since 1995. This year we proudly serve nearly 600 students at four grade levels.
