Message from Deacon Mark on Jubilee 2025!
The Jubilee is here! Are you ready? To share your Catholic faith? To go deeper with God and His Church? To be Pilgrims of Hope to friends, family, classmates, teachers and the total strangers God puts before you? You have two amazing examples to follow, Blessed Carlo Acutis and Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati. Carlo with his love to pray the rosary, attending Mass whenever he could and believing in the body and blood of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. Carlo demonstrated, it doesn’t take your parents to fall madly in love with Christ. He led them to the “wedding chapel of Christ,” converting them both through his obedience and love of his Catholic faith.
Then we have Blessed Pier Giorgio, the mountain-climbing, outdoorsman who spread his love of Jesus Christ through his love of enjoying God’s creation. He loved his Catholic faith, always talking about his faith, whether he was in a Church or on a mountain climb. He was a “pilgrim of hope” to all who met him. His phrase, "Verso L'Alto", which means "to the heights" is how he lived and shared his faith.
Both these young men were called to our eternal home at an early age, but their examples of how to love Jesus Christ, our Catholic faith, and our neighbors will last forever.
Jubilee 2025 - Pilgrims of Hope
Pope Francis stated in his February 2022 letter announcing the Jubilee 2025: "We must fan the flame of hope that has been given us and help everyone to gain new strength and certainty by looking to the future with an open spirit, a trusting heart and far-sighted vision. The forthcoming Jubilee can contribute greatly to restoring a climate of hope and trust as a prelude to the renewal and rebirth that we so urgently desire..."
The Jubilee of Adolescents (Teenagers) will take place April 25 - 27, 2025. Blessed Carlo Acutis will be canonized on April 27, 2025.
The Jubilee of Young People will take place July 28 - Aug. 3, 2025. Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati will be canonized on August 3, 2025.

January Devotion - The Holy Name of Jesus
Since the 16th century Catholic piety has associated entire months to special devotions. The devotion to the Holy Name of Jesus has been traditionally associated with the month of January, due to its celebration on January 3. The name Jesus was given to the Holy Child at God's command (Luke 1:31). The Holy Name is all-powerful because of the Person who bears it; we honor it because of the command of Christ, that we should pray in His Name and because it reminds us of all the blessings we receive through our Holy Redeemer. Hence St. Paul was able to write to the Philippians: ". . . at the name of Jesus every knee should bend of those in heaven, on earth, and under the earth" (Phil. 2:10). By means of this devotion we also make amends for improper use of the Holy Name.
