MESSAGE FROM JASON WESLEY
Dear Parcells Families,
Winter break is just around the corner, and we remain focused on our hard work in the classrooms. We are thrilled about the chance to finish the year on a high note. A special thank you to the Grosse Pointe Educational Foundation for approving several grants, including a $7,500 SEED grant to help build, design, and eventually expand our student union.
This space will provide our students with an environment to engage with one another while embodying Panther Pride. We are diligently and continually preparing our students for the 13th grade, it is our top priority.
We are in need of parents willing to come in and discuss their careers with our students. If you are interested please let me know.
Thank you.
Jason Wesley
Parcells Principal
WINTER CHOIR CONCERT
Congrats to 150 Parcells singers for a beautiful winter choir concert at GPN this past Wednesday. Our 5th through 8th grade musicians sang their hearts out. Many thanks to all families for supporting our students, transporting their sons and daughters to and from the concert, and cheering them on from the sold-out audience!
Additional congratulations to our 7th and 8th grade singers for a busy day of singing on the annual Parcells choir tour this past Thursday. Nearly 60 musicians traveled to Ferry, Monteith, Mason, Sunrise and St. John's Hospital to spread musical cheer throughout our community. Thanks to our chaperones and parapros for their assistance during this high-energy day!
ADDRESSING FIGHTING
To maintain the safety of our student body, we are taking proactive measures to address physical conflicts and confrontations. Any students involved in fighting or recording fights or altercations will face a suspension of 7 to 10 days. Fortunately, such behavior has been minimal in our school, and we intend to keep it that way. We are an institution focused on learning and academic achievement, not a venue for social regression. Such behavior will not be tolerated at Parcells Middle School.

OFFICE NEWS
- Please talk to your child the night before or in the morning before school about any after school plans. It is disruptive to get messages to the students during class time. WE UNDERSTAND THAT SOMETIMES THERE ARE LAST MINUTE CHANGES AND THAT IS OK TO CALL FOR!!!
- Students should not be calling home because they forgot something unless the teacher asks them to. This is also disruptive to class time. Please instill in your child the importance of planning ahead. If you drop something off to your student during the school day your student will get an email to their schoology. Please remind them to check their schoology email throughout the school day. Calling the classrooms is very disruptive. Thank you for your understanding.
- After the school bell rings in the morning the only entrance that should be used is the one along Sunningdale at the end of the GP Woods Library Parking Lot. The door is called the H door and it is PARCELLS SECURE ENTRANCE. This is also the door that students should come in if they are late or parents should come in if needing to enter the building during the school day.
ATTENDANCE LINE
If your student is staying home for any reason please call the attendance line at 313-432-4601 or email hargera@gpschools.org and leave a reason for the absence.
