Last Day of School
- 8th grade clap out will begin as close to 9 am as possible. Parents interested in participating or taking photos should form a tunnel at the outside of the main entry working towards the south end (playground area) of the building.
- Students are not to bring book bags/chromebooks, etc. to school. Clear bags, small pool bags (8th grade only) or lunch bags are fine. We do check students' bags prior to entering the school to ensure we don't see silly string/shaving cream/etc. We want students to have a good day, but... there are limits!
2024 Last Day of School Volunteers Needed
2024 Last Day of School: Middle School East & East Student Council are so excited to host our last day of school celebration! As in years past, each grade level will have 1 hour to enjoy a few inflatables, eat light snacks & enjoy time with friends. This will happen the morning of Friday, May 24th (our last day!)
We do anticipate needing adult volunteers at each activity to monitor and help as needed. Attached you will find sign-ups for each grade level's time - thanks in advance if you are able to help out! (You may have to copy and paste the link into your browser).

6th Grade Update
Please remind your child to work hard and put forth their best effort these last two weeks - we are wrapping up units and still doing assessments and projects. It is a fun and busy time of year, but students also need to be kind and on-task.
Upcoming dates:
Tuesday, May 21 & Wednesday, May 22 - field trips to Ohio Caverns and HighBanks Metro Park.
Please be sure the $8 fee was paid on Infinite Campus (check your account) and that permission slips have been turned in as well. Have your child’s House shirts ready to wear on BOTH days (they now have 2 - one from the first day of school and one from Fitness Fundraiser). A reminder email will be coming again from your child’s House teacher, but plan to pack a lunch, water bottle, and have your child wear clothes, including House shirt, and shoes for an active day.
7th Grade Update
Math 7 students will complete a real-world budgeting project this week in class!
Ace7/8 is working on a financial literacy project this week.
All ELA students should be practicing their hero speeches at home as we get ready for Hero Day on Wednesday 5/22! Reach out to your student’s teacher if you have any questions.
8th Grade Update
- If your student is not going to DC, ensure that you have signed the purple permission slip that came home last week. Email montgomeryl@gjps.org with questions if you did not get that permission slip.
- Yellow permission slips were sent home with your child last Thursday for the last day of school Pool Party at Foxboro Pool. Please get this signed and given to your child’s House teacher by next Monday, May 20th.
