February 2025 Dragon Digest

February Dragon Digest
Dear DeSana Families,
I cannot believe that it is February. I am looking forward to some warmer days ahead! As Maya Angelou once said, “We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty”. Our students have undoubtedly gone through changes over the past six months, and I look forward to their continued growth and development as we finish out the school year strong!
Finally, we are excited to host our second annual SGA Valentine's Day Social on Friday, February 7, from 4:30pm - 6:00pm. Tickets can be purchased through School Pay and are limited to the first 250 students who sign up. Our Valentine's Day Social is casual, and we look forward to hosting this event for our students.
Please be sure to read through all the information below!
Sincerely,
Principal Sargent

DeSana Middle School Family Survey
As a school, we value the feedback we receive from our families. We would appreciate you taking a few moments to complete the survey that is linked below to let us know how we are doing as a school. The survey results will be collected by the Georgia Department of Education (GADOE) and shared with school leaders. The survey itself takes about 5 - 10 minutes to complete.
February 14th-18th Student Holiday
There will be no school 2/14-2/18 due to student holiday. Enjoy your long weekend!
Valentine's Day Social
Student Government Association is hosting the Valentine’s Day Social on Friday, February 7th! The social is open to all grades, 6th, 7th, and 8th. The social will take place directly after school from 4:30-6:00 in the cafe (students will not be permitted to leave school and return). This is a fun, casual dress event that is meant to be a modern update on the traditional middle school dance. We are hosting a SILENT DISCO! Concessions will be sold (cash only) and there will be games in the atrium. Tickets will be sold on SchoolPay for $5 with a limited number of tickets available! Tickets will only be sold through Thursday, 2/6. No tickets will be sold on the day of the dance.

We need parent chaperones for the Valentine's Day Social. If you are interested in chaperoning the social, please sign up here. Reach out to SGA advisors Sarah Coats (sjcoats@forsyth.k12.ga.us) or Elizabeth Hubbard (ehubbard@forsyth.k12.ga.us) with questions.
