Summer Nutrition Program for Kids
In the summer of 2024, The State of Illinois, in partnership with the Illinois Department of Human Services and the USDA, will launch the Summer EBT program. This new benefit program provides families with $120 for each eligible school-aged child to buy groceries when school is out.

Graduation Info for the 2024 Grads
A letter with Graduation Details will be mailed home in early May
Event Details:
Date and Time: Graduation will take place at 6:30 PM on the Albright Middle School field.
Location: The ceremony will be held outdoors on the school field, providing a spacious and picturesque setting for the celebration.
Tickets:
Family Tickets: Each graduate will receive four family tickets for their loved ones to attend the ceremony. These tickets will also serve as vouchers for one complimentary Nothing Bundt Cake per ticket holder after the ceremony.
Bright Your Own Chair Tickets: Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs for seating during the ceremony. Each family will receive four "Bright Your Own Chair" tickets to reserve space for their chairs at the event. This ticket is not eligible for the nothing bundt cake.
Special Treats:
- Graduates' Treats: Graduates will receive special perks, including a free Kona Ice treat and one free Nothing Bundt Cake to enjoy after the ceremony, as a token of appreciation for their hard work and achievements.
If it rains we will be inside the large gym at Albright. It will also be live steamed if we are inside and outside.

When writing a nomination, consider the impact of the nominee's work and how it has positively influenced others or contributed to the success of a project or organization. Absence
The parent/guardian of a student who is enrolled must authorize all absences from school and notify the school in advance or at the time of the student’s absence. A valid cause for absence includes illness (including mental or behavioral health of the student), observance of a religious holiday, death in the immediate family, family emergency, other situations beyond the control of the student. Remember if you do not call your student in on the day they are absent with a reason, they will be considered an Unexcused absence.

Update Information
It is important that parents keep their information updated in Skyward. If there is an emergency we do not want to have the wrong information. Please contact the proper school your student attends and give them any new information that needs to be changed whether it be for yourself, your spouse, another parent from a different address (we can separate addresses when student's are split between households),update new or old emergency contacts and any phone numbers for anyone on your Skyward parent portal. Often there are times when our buses are running late. Westway Coach will notify us when there is a delay in time for buses so we can notify our parents of the bus that is running late. Sometimes a situation can happen when our office is closed and a parent tries to call us. If this is the case you may contact Westway Coach at 630-270-2720. Note that our School Office hours are 7:15 to 3:15 Monday thru Friday.

Smile Squad- Consent is due by May 13th!
Introducing THE SMILE SQUAD!
The Smile Squad is coming to Salt Creek District 48 for ALL students! The Smile Squad is a fully equipped dental truck that provides free dental services to students, including a cleaning and sealants for those who qualify. If your child participates, the Smile Squad will provide proof of an exam that meets the Illinois State school requirements. If you are interested in your child participating, please email dolsen@saltcreek48.org or call the office and request a consent form be sent home with your child. Consent forms are due by: Monday, May 13th. All students are welcome to participate!
The exams will take place at your child’s school during regular school hours:
● Albright Middle School: Monday, May 20th
● Stella May Swartz: Tuesday, May 21st
● Salt Creek Primary: Wednesday, May 22nd
Simply fill out the consent form & return it to your health office by Monday, May 13th.

Pokémon night Friday May 10th 630-8pm (Salt Creek)
The Salt Creek School District 48 Viking family is collecting money to support Gabi & Alyssa Elguezabal, alumni of District 48, as they move forward after their unfortunate loss. All money raised will be put into a savings account for them. If you'd like to donate, please use this link, scan the QR code, or drop off cash or check (made out to FTC) at any of the school offices. Donations can be made through May 10.
Breakfast and Lunch Menus
Did you know we have a new way to check out the breakfast and lunch Menus? You can find the link on our school website under the parents and community tab in each school. Once you click on the link all you have to do is pic the school you want and either breakfast or lunch! Its that easy!!
