Principal's Message
Hello Bulldog Families,
As we continue to focus on November’s Resiliency Skill, Gratitude, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation for the Zephyrhills community. This past week, we had the privilege of hearing from several community members, including Mayor Bahr Monson, during our Great American Teach in. Students were able to learn first hand about careers, interests, and hobbies available in the Zephyrhills community.
When we return after Thanksgiving break, we will shift our focus to December's resiliency skill: Empathy. Empathy involves understanding the thoughts, feelings, and actions of others. To support this at home, please refer to the attached Empathy Parent Guide for ways to discuss this important skill with your child.
Pajamas and Dress Code
As the weather cools, we’ve noticed an increase in students wearing pajamas and bringing blankets to school. Please remember that the student code of conduct states that pajamas are not appropriate for the school setting, except during special events or dress-up days. While we understand the comfort of pajama bottoms, we kindly ask for your help in reminding students that they may only wear them on designated days. Additionally, we request that students leave blankets at home, as they can often become distractions to learning.
Holidays
As we approach the holiday season, please remember that if you need assistance for Christmas, you can contact our main office at (813) 794-6500. Alternatively, your child can reach out to their favorite teacher so we can complete the necessary paperwork to assist you. If you’re interested in donating to a family in need, please connect with our school Social Worker, Kathryn Mackenzie, by calling the main line or emailing her at kmackenz@pasco.k12.fl.us.
FAST PM 2
When we return from Thanksgiving break, we will begin FAST PM 2 assessments on Tuesday, December 3rd. It is crucial that students are present for the three weeks we are in school during December to ensure we can assess them without delay.
Thank you for taking the time to read this week’s Bulldog Bark newsletter and for being our partner in your child’s education.
Warm regards,
Joshua Borders
