Whispering Ridge families!

We hope you have a joyful and restful holiday season filled with family time and a chance to unwind. We are looking forward to a fantastic start to the 2025 year together. A reminder that classes will resume on January 6th, 2025 with an early out day (dismissal at 2:50pm) to accommodate for our December staff meeting.

January is full of exciting events, including Family Literacy Week, where we’ll celebrate the joy of reading and learning together through a variety of engaging literacy activities. Stay tuned for more details from your child’s teacher in the coming weeks. As always, the best way to stay up to date on what is happening in our building is to follow our school Facebook page and to be on your child's teachers weekly email distribution list. If you would like to get more involved in our school, please join us for our monthly school council and/or the school participarent meetings happening on the evening of January 22nd.

As we continue to embrace the winter season, we kindly remind families to ensure students are dressed appropriately for the colder temperatures, including warm jackets, boots, hats, and mittens. Staying warm will help everyone enjoy outdoor recesses.

If your child will be absent or late, we kindly ask that you notify the school to keep us informed. Thank you for your support and cooperation in helping us maintain a smooth and efficient start to each school day!

SCHOOL FEES

In order to ensure we can continue to offer enriching learning experiences and optimal programming for our students, we are instating a small school fee for students in grades 1-8. The school administration team worked with our School Council group to weigh the pros and cons, and to ensure that this decision was supported moving forward. School fees are $30 per student, and these are payable cash, check, or online (link will be shared on our website).

Options Grades 4-8

Some optional classes have a $50 fee (per term) which will allow us to plan more enriched opportunities for our students. If a family is worried about cost or is unable to afford the cost of an option their child would like to partake in, we encourage families to reach out so that we can make alternate arrangements. We are fortunate to live in a generous community and often there are people looking for ways to give back or pay it forward.
