60 SECONDS WITH THE SUPERINTENDENT
This week, our Transportation Department rolled out a new app for our District - “Here Comes the Bus.” This app will give families the opportunity to track bus routes before and after school and will provide personalized notifications for transportation information. The app is available on smartphones, tablets, laptops, and desktops. Click HERE for this week’s episode, to learn more about the “Here Comes the Bus” app for our District.
SCS RESPONSIBLE RESTART COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE
Our District has created the SCS Responsible Restart Comprehensive Guide - one document in one location outlining our District’s policies and procedures. This document should be used as a guide, allowing you to quickly find answers to your questions. The guide can also be found at www.strongnet.org/restart.
As we have seen throughout the pandemic, factors can change on a daily basis and this Guide will remain adjustable and flexible to respond to state and local health guidelines.
UPDATE YOUR STUDENT’S IMMUNIZATION RECORDS
With our students returning to in person learning next week, please remember that your student(s) immunizations records must be up to date with our Health Services Department. Click HERE for additional information on the immunizations required for the 2020-21 school year. Please submit proof of immunizations via email (lkonopinski@scsmustangs.org) or via fax (440.846.3226). If you have additional questions, please call 440.846.4137.
MUSTANG SPOTLIGHT - MRS. JULIE ANDERSEN, CAFETERIA MANAGER AT STRONGSVILLE MIDDLE SCHOOL
Mrs. Julie Andersen is our Cafeteria Manager at Strongsville Middle School. Mrs. Andersen is in her 22nd year in our District and was a resident of Strongsville when her children were a part of our District. She helped in the concession stand during high school football season and was an active parent volunteer while her children were Zellers students. Mrs. Andersen is a graduate of Siena Heights University and spent many years in the restaurant business, managing several small food chain businesses, prior to working in our District.
“I like working with the students and getting to know them. Seeing them grow from year to year is fun. I pride myself in offering the students a variety of foods that appeal to them. I talk to them to see what they would like offered and do the best I can. Working with our Food Services team at the middle school makes for a fun environment,” said Mrs. Andersen.
Thank you Mrs. Andersen for providing healthy meal options to our SMS students on a daily basis! #WeAreStrongsville
