Welcome To Week #27
Diamond Bar High School and the Walnut Valley Unified School District are proud to recognize Women's History Month as we continue to provide our organization with resources to celebrate diversity while building equitable and inclusive practices for our community.
Dear Brahma Family,
Please join me in congratulating the DBHS Robotics Team, Team Sprocket, for their outstanding performance this past weekend, exemplifying what it means to be Dynamic, Balanced, Honorable, and Scholastic.
At the Orange County Regional FIRST Robotics Competition, Team Sprocket earned their second consecutive Engineering Inspiration Award—one of the highest honors in high school robotics. This award recognizes their exceptional efforts in promoting respect and appreciation for engineering through outreach, education, and community engagement, inspiring future STEAM leaders in our school, district, and community.
With this achievement, Team Sprocket has secured another invitation to compete at the FIRST Robotics World Championships in Houston this April!
Team Sprocket’s business Team impressed the Judging Committee with their ability to articulate and showcase the team’s dedication to STEAM education—using the high-level writing and speaking skills they've developed in their classes.
Congratulations, Team Sprocket!
Sincerely,
David Hong

Shari DeCambra Voted DBHS's Teacher of the Year
Congratulations to Math teacher Shari DeCambra who was chosen as Diamond Bar High School's 2024-25 Teacher of The Year. Each year, the teachers in the three academic departments of Diamond Bar High School name a teacher of the year within their divisions. From those three, the entire staff votes which teacher will be Diamond Bar High School's Teacher of the Year.
Shari is the embodiment of what it means to be an exceptional educator, mentor, and colleague. Her kindness, dedication, and unwavering commitment to both students and staff make our school a better place to learn and work. Whether in the classroom, at school events, or collaborating with fellow teachers, Shari consistently goes above and beyond to ensure that everyone around her feels valued and supported.
In the classroom, Shari creates a positive and welcoming environment where students feel safe, heard, and empowered. Her ability to connect with students is evident in the deep respect and admiration they have for her. While some may argue that being loved by students is not a measure of great teaching, it is undeniable that students who feel valued and supported are more engaged and willing to learn. Beyond her warm and nurturing presence, Shari is also a master of her content and instructional strategies, ensuring that students receive a high-quality education.
Her leadership extends far beyond her own classroom. As a class advisor, ACT proctor, and a member of the district curriculum council, she takes on numerous roles that directly contribute to student success. She actively collaborates within her PLCs, helping both new and experienced teachers refine their instructional methods. Additionally, as a dedicated union representative, she advocates for her peers, fostering a supportive and equitable work environment.
Shari’s commitment to the school community is evident in her constant presence at student events, from football and basketball games to school-wide initiatives. She volunteers her time and energy to ensure that students not only succeed academically but also feel encouraged in their extracurricular pursuits.
Her passion for education, leadership, and mentorship make her an invaluable member of our school.
