News from the Principal
Dear Jefferson Families,
This week, we're excited to kick off interim testing for grades 3-5! These assessments will provide valuable insights for your child's teacher. This helps them understand where your students are and how to best support their growth as they prepare for the STAAR. Students should get plenty of rest and start their day with a nutritious breakfast, setting them up for success. We have full confidence that they will shine! Together, we’ve got this!
Please remember that on the day of testing the campus will be closed to visitors ( Feb 4, Feb 6th and Feb 11th. You can resume eating with your student on the Wednesday and Friday after testing is over.
Warmly,
Maria Guerra

NEWS FLASH!🚨
Jefferson Avenue Elementary has a new Music Teacher!
We are overjoyed to announce that Mr. Thoreson has joined us as our newest hire.
Before joining Jefferson, Mr. Thoreson worked at the PREP, where he led as a private preschool teacher and aide. He also has experience teaching older students drum set lessons, as his primary instrument in college was percussion. In this role, Mr. Thoreson will foster an environment of growth and exploration of new musical concepts across all grade levels. We’re confident that his aspirations align with Jefferson's vision for a welcoming, nurturing community for achieving high levels of learning.
Outside of school, Mr. Thoreson enjoys time running, thrift shopping, and discovering new music.
Please join us in welcoming Mr. Thoreson to our Jefferson family!
