Principals Message
"Tūrikihia Tōu Tāumata Tiketike.”
As I reflect on these words, I am reminded of the vital role that both educators and whānau play in ensuring our tamariki mokopuna know our histories, hear our stories, and utilize our Reo. It is essential that they develop a strong sense of self, understanding their identity and heritage. Collaborative efforts between home and school are crucial for making informed decisions that best support our student’s academic, social and cultural development. In the coming weeks, students will be bringing home their school reports, and we encourage you to schedule an interview with your child’s kaiako to celebrate and discuss their learning outcomes. This is a great opportunity to show a positive partnership with the kura.
“He aha te mea nui o te Ao, he tangata, he tangata.”

Ako - Learning experiences - Te Roopu Taiao
In this edition of our newsletter, I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to our Taiao Charter Team, comprising Whaea Reremoana, Matua V.J, and Whaea Bethan. Under Whaea Reremoana's leadership, a dedicated Taiao Roopu has been established, bringing together students from across the kura, who proudly wear their new Taiao vests today. This group's objectives include the kaitiakitanga and maintenance of our school worm farms, judging our school garden competition, and acquiring knowledge about seedlings. Additionally, they have received generous gifts of mini greenhouses and seed packs from Whaea Rachel Wilson, who is currently at the kura to facilitate the reduce, reuse, and recycle program.
