Sports Captains
In with the new, out with the old!
We have a large number of old tables and chairs which we no longer require. If any parents would like any items, please get in touch. We would also like you to share this information with any local groups who might need the furniture and are happy for the photo of the old table and chairs to be posted on social media. There would be no charge but you would need to collect yourselves. Thank you.
Curriculum Pillars - Enrichment
At Ripon Cathedral School, we have five curriculum pillars that help to drive our curriculum and ensure that children encounter a broad learning experience that helps them to think, explore and apply their learning and knowledge in the world in which they live. They are:
Vocabulary
Enrichment
Creativity
Big Ideas
Purpose
At our school we acknowledge the immense value of educational visits to children to support their wholistic development. Learning Beyond the Classroom has a vital part to play in meeting the demands of a broad and balanced curriculum, and in achieving the goal of preparing children for life beyond school. Educational visits, residential experiences and activities in the local area of the school and school grounds are an integral part of our whole school approach.
You can access more information about our programme of enrichment activities by clicking on the booklet below.
Curriculum Pillars - Big Ideas
Exploring big ideas in science and technology can help pupils to see the big picture and understand how science and technology works in the world around them.
We encourage children to consider questions and use opportunities within lessons to explore concepts to gain a deeper understanding of curriculum topics.
As part of our curriculum, children are given the opportunity to work practically and apply learning in meaningful contexts. This can be through experiments, creating products and activities within our forest schools provision.
