Congratulations, 8th Graders!
As our eighth graders prepare for their next level of learning in high school, we hope they remember their days as a Pirate. We know they are ready for their next step. Students, enjoy these end-of-year celebrations as the leadership class of 2024! We are proud of you, and all you have accomplished.
Lost & Found
If you are a 6th grade parent, you have seen the lost and found tables out front during carpool. As always, thank you, PTO, for helping us get these items collected and organized.
Please encourage your student to check out the tables this week before the school year ends. Following this week, all items will be donated.

Bass Fishing State Champions!
Vestavia Juniors Bass Fishing Team has had a great season!
Vestavia Juniors Bass Fishing:
Liberty Park and Pizitz fish together as a district junior team, so all awards are a combined effort between both middle schools.
Spring Season Qualifiers:
1st Place Team, Junior Division- Lake Jordan
2nd Place Team, Junior Division- Lake Martin. Beau Dillon was awarded “Big Fish” trophy.
3rd Place Team, Junior Division- Lake Pickwick
Our teams were n 2nd place moving into our State tournament (The ASABFA Classic). We tied for first place, but took 2nd in the “big fish” weight tie-breaker. The combined points for the season, gave Vestavia Jrs. the state championship title!

Softball Updates for Next Year
If you are interested in trying out for softball for the 2024-2025 school year (that includes 7th, 8th, & 9th graders), please join the Google Classroom (code: u5tucig). There will be an informational meeting THIS Tuesday night (5/23) at 6pm at the High School softball facility down from the Freshman Campus. This meeting is for students and parents. The coaches look forward to seeing you there, and discussing the future of our softball program. Go Rebels!!!
Attention 8th Graders!
There are many opportunities for students to lead at the Freshman Campus next year.
If you are interested in being part of Peer Helpers or Leadership Council next year, join the Google Classroom (code: rdu7tqs) and complete your application before July 1.
Yearbooks!
Yearbooks have arrived, and we will be handing them out TODAY. We have a LIMITED number of extra books available for sale. Students can bring $60 cash or a check made out to Pizitz to Mrs. Wade in room A101. Students can check with their Academic Strategies teacher to see if they have pre-ordered a book, or students can email Mrs. Wade with any questions (wadelb@vhcs.us).

Pizitz Cross Country
CALLING ALL DISTANCE RUNNERS! Any current 6th or 7th graders interested in 2024 Pizitz Cross Country Team should join the Google Classroom (Code: lvqdguz) for more information!
If your athlete is interested at all please join the Google Classroom. If you have any questions, please contact Coach Campbell at campbellc@vhcs.us, ask him in the hallway or swing by C114 in between classes! We look forward to the next XC season!!
Library
Students: Due to ongoing inventory, the library will be closed BEFORE SCHOOL Monday, May 20 through Thursday, May 23. We have enjoyed having you visit us before school and look forward to seeing you next school year! Have a wonderful summer and KEEP READING!
VHHS Baseball Tryouts for the 2024-2025 School Year
Baseball tryouts are for all upcoming 8th and 9th Graders plus any 10th-12th Graders who would like to try out that are currently NOT on the team.
- June 3: 8th Grade 12:30-2:00
- June 4: 8th Grade 12:30-2:00
- June 5: ALL Grades Together 12:30-2:30
- June 6: ALL Grades Together 12:30-2:00
