As we prepare for winter weather, it’s important to understand how we communicate school closures and delays to keep everyone safe and informed.

Key Information:

• Notification Timing: Families will be notified of delays or cancellations as soon as possible.

• Snow Routes: In case of icy or snowy roads, snow routes may be implemented for the Rabbit, Whale, and Beaver buses. Please familiarize yourself with the nearest snow route bus stop and plan alternative transportation if needed.

• Updated Contact Information: Ensure your contact information is current in ParentSquare to receive timely updates.

Decision-Making Process

School closures or delays are determined based on the following:

• Safe access to school facilities for students, staff, and families.

• Safety conditions of school facilities.

• Travel conditions in rural and surrounding areas.

Communication Channels for School Delays and Closures

1. ParentSquare:
   Notifications will be sent via automated text and/or phone call to parents, guardians, staff, and students.

2. Local News Stations:
   Closure information will be broadcast on local news channels via FlashAlert.

3. School Website and Social Media:
   Updates will be posted on the district website at www.centrallinn.k12.or.us and the district's Facebook page.

Procedures for Delays and Closures

When School is Delayed

• Start time is two hours later than normal.

• Before-school programs are canceled.

• Buses may follow snow routes based on road conditions.

When School is Canceled

• All schools are closed.

• All school events, extracurricular activities, and meetings may be canceled.

• For any missed instructional day due to closures may be rescheduled, and information about make-up days will be communicated through the same channels.

Snow Routes and Safe Commuting

• Snow Routes: Find snow route information on the district website’s Transportation page.

• Contact: For any further questions on Snow Routes call MidCo at 503-767-2480.

• Safety Reminders:

• Allow extra time in school zones and parking lots.

• Avoid distracted driving.

• Use designated drop-off and pick-up zones, and watch for pedestrians.

Keeping Contact Information Updated

We will use the contact information you provided during school registration to notify families about delays or cancellations.

If you have never logged into ParentSquare:

1. Visit parentsquare.com/signin or download and open the ParentSquare app.

2. Enter the email address you used at school registration.

3. If you have unverified contact information, you will see one or more contact cards under "Action Required: Confirm Your Account Information.”

4. Confirm your email, phone number, and students.

5. If you need to edit your contact information, please log into ParentVUE. You can also call or email your school’s main office to update your contact information.

If you have already logged into ParentSquare this school year:

1. Visit parentsquare.com/signin or open the ParentSquare app.

2. Login using your email and password.

3. Click your name in the upper right corner of your browser window (or click “My Account” in the menu on the left in the app).

4. Check that your email and phone number are correct.

5. If you need to edit your contact information, please log into ParentVUE. You can also call or email your school’s main office to update your contact information.

Each week, Mr. Sauter celebrates outstanding Central Linn students through the "Terrific Little Cobras" program, recognizing their exceptional character and dedication.

Last week, Elena, Kenny, and Paisley were honored with a signed tie and will join other winners for a special pizza lunch at the end of the month.

On "Tie-riffic Tuesdays," these students proudly wear their ties to showcase their achievements. Congratulations to our "Tie-riffic" students—keep up the amazing work!

November 15th and 15th, the student-directed play Nick Tickle: Fairy Tale Detective was a huge success!

A big shoutout to Lilly Deiz for doing an outstanding job directing the play. The talented Thespians brought the story to life, delighting audiences who loved the show and engaged with the actors. Behind the scenes, the stage crew worked tirelessly to ensure everything ran smoothly. This was another incredible student-run production at Central Linn High School—congratulations to everyone involved!

This Saturday, November 23rd, the Central Linn FFA Food Science team competed in the State held at OSU and placed 8th overall—a fantastic achievement!

You all did an amazing job representing Central Linn FFA. Way to go!

CONGRATULATIONS to our CLHS/ELCA Girls' Soccer Team for their incredible second-place finish at State on November 16th! What an amazing season you all had—your hard work, teamwork, and dedication truly paid off. This is an accomplishment to be proud of, and our community couldn’t be more excited for you.

We are incredibly proud of all our Fall sports teams for earning OSAA Academic All-State recognition! Your dedication to excellence both on the field and in the classroom is truly inspiring.

About the Academic All-State Award:
The OnPoint Community Credit Union Academic All-State Program honors outstanding academic achievement among student-athletes. The boys' and girls' teams in each activity with the highest team GPA earn the prestigious Academic All-State Award.

Awards Include:

• Each winning team member receives a commemorative decal and certificate.
• The school is presented with a plaque in honor of its team’s achievement.
• Top 10 teams in each activity and classification are also recognized.

Teams earning a 3.0 GPA or higher contribute 25 points to their school’s OSAA Cup standings, with additional points awarded to Top 10 teams based on OSAA’s scoring system.

Well done, for your hard work and commitment!
