NYSSBA Recognizes Baldwin UFSD with Two More "Champion of Change" Awards
During the November Board Meeting, the New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA) recognized Baldwin Union Free School District as a “Champion of Change” for the Baldwin Schools Wellness Center and the Brookside Shark Tank Project. The award celebrates programs that optimize resources to address issues of equity, demonstrate strong student academic performance and introduce unique learning environments that are innovative and future oriented. Baldwin UFSD is now a four-time award winner and was previously recognized with this honor for the Hello Neighbor Project and the high school’s Education Academy. Learn more >>

Baldwin High School and Middle School Students Serve as Plaza Teachers for a Day
As part of the district's “School2Career” curricula and programs, Plaza Elementary School welcomed nearly 80 students from Baldwin High School’s Education Academy, the Future Teachers of America club, and Baldwin Middle School’s Education Pre-Academy for a hands-on learning experience. The secondary students stepped into the role of “teacher” for the day, educating the younger grades, K-5, on financial literacy. Brookside Second Graders Hold “Mad Meter Day” on New Track and Field
With assistance from the high school's Algebra II class, the Brookside Elementary School second graders participated in a “Leaving2Learn” excursion at Baldwin High School, where they completed three math challenges: estimating and measuring the Bruin bear's length, the end zone, and a 20-meter dash alongside high school students.
