A NOTE FROM MRS. RIESGRAF
Wow, just like that, we are through two months of school! How can that be? We have been working so hard to learn and grow new skills here at Pepin Elementary. I have no doubt you are also seeing these strides at home too.
Our Character Theme focus of the month - Gratitude
On November 1, our Eagle’s Nest Groups will meet at 2:45 p.m. for an assembly to kick off the month honoring our theme of Gratitude. Our students meet in their assigned group with grades 4k-6 to build relationships with one another and to learn more about gratitude. This month, we are grateful to be talking about gratitude. Gratitude means choosing to appreciate the people and things in our lives. Can you remember a time when someone did something for you that made your day better or made you feel happy? You probably felt gratitude for that person at that moment. This month, we will learn more about how to practice gratitude and how to express it to others. What a perfect time to practice this skill!
Parent/teacher Conferences
Letters are being mailed to all parents of elementary students inviting you to conferences this month. If you signed up for a specific time at the fall open house, you will be receiving a letter of confirmation. If you did not get a chance to sign up, we will choose a time for you. If you need to make a change in your conference time, please call Angie in the office to make that change. We hope to see you on November 7 or 8.
Trimester 1 comes to an end
The official end date to our trimester is November 15. You will receive your child’s report card via email the week of November 18-22. To celebrate the successful completion of Trimester One, our elementary school will participate in a “Turkey Trot." Mr. Pearson and Mrs. Noel have planned some fun activities around fitness that we will be able to enjoy. We will be out celebrating/trotting around the football field on November 22. A special thanks to them for setting this up for us to enjoy.
Fruit Sale Updates
The Fruit Sale forms are to be turned in on November 4. Please give it to your child’s teacher or turn it into the office. The dollars used from this sale go towards a variety of elementary experiences such as field trips, recess equipment, and special speakers or events. Some of the funds earned from last year's sale are paying for the whole elementary to go to a live performance at the Sheldon Theatre in February. Thanks in advance for your support. Pick up is tentatively scheduled for December 9 at Pepin Lion’s Club from 3:30-6:30 p.m. A special note of gratitude to Shannon Van Allen for all of her hard work and effort on the fruit sale. She oversees all aspects of the sale for our elementary students. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful volunteer.
My wish for you during this busy season is to find time to enjoy the things that you are grateful for this month. I am so grateful to be able to work alongside such amazing staff and students each day.
If I can ever be of assistance to you, please do not hesitate to reach out.
My best,
Mrs. Riesgraf
We’re excited to invite you to our upcoming Scholastic Book Fair. This event is an opportunity for students of all ages to build their home libraries and further their love of reading. As always, all purchases benefit our school.
Here’s what you need to know about the Fair, which will take place from November 4-8 in the Library/Media Center. Shopping hours will be before and after school, as well as during parent/teacher conferences on November 7-8.
• Our Book Fair offers a cash-free payment option called eWallet. It’s a convenient digital account that your child can use for shopping at our Fair. Grandparents, friends, and others can contribute, too!
• If you can’t make it to the Fair, then shop online at our school’s Virtual Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Your online orders will also benefit our school.
Visit our Book Fair homepage to learn more and get started with eWallet and online shopping:
