Greetings Evergreen Community,

We look forward to seeing you all on Monday or Tuesday of next week for conferences. For a detailed outline of the conferencing schedule, please see last week’s News from the Nest. As a general reminder, in-person conferences will occur Monday evening, Tuesday morning, and Tuesday evening. For families who are unable to attend in-person, a virtual conferencing option is available Tuesday afternoon.

Looking forward to after Thanksgiving Break, on Friday, December 6th, the Evergreen Middle School community will kick off the annual canned food drive. One of the elements of the Evergreen canned food drive that brings my heart the most joy is that the donations students bring in directly support students and families in the Evergreen community. On Saturday, December 21st, staff gather to deliver the food that is collected during the drive to Evergreen students and their families. In addition to canned food, monetary donations that are collected throughout the drive are provided to families in the form of gift cards to support them throughout the holiday season and beyond. This is truly a community centered event and it kicks off on December 6th.

With November coming to a close, I want to take a moment to say THANK YOU to the Evergreen Parent Club and all of you who are playing an active role within that organization. You all are providing so much support to this school community and making things possible that wouldn’t otherwise be possible. To those of you who are opening the student store, providing food for staff, organizing the clothing closet, scheduling fundraisers behind the scenes, bringing forward new ideas that are yet to come to fruition, managing the organization, and so much more…THANK YOU! A special thank you to all of you who are brave enough to work the concessions during Nest Fest as that event is the pinnacle of middle school energy. This community is becoming stronger every day and you all are playing a huge role in making that happen. On behalf of the students and staff of Evergreen Middle School, thank you, thank you, thank you!
