The Washington Weekly
April 29, 2024
Principal's Message
Greetings Washington Families,
Welcome back to another edition of The Washington Weekly! We are gearing up for another week of fun and learning. As a reminder, today, April 29, is a Teacher Workday. There is no school for students today.
Don't forget to fill out the annual WCPSS Family Survey- we want to hear from you! It's super important for us to know how your children's school experience is going. Remember, each family is asked to complete one survey per child, ensuring that we capture a comprehensive picture of our school community's strengths and needs.
As we approach Teacher Appreciation Week, our PTA is hard at work planning special events to honor our incredible staff. We need your support to make this week a memorable success! Whether you can donate food items, school supplies, funds, or your time, every contribution makes a meaningful difference in showing our staff how much they are appreciated.
Mark your calendars for our upcoming Spring Fling elective showcase on May 21st! Join us for an evening of celebrating our students' gifts and talents, plus time to shop the Book Fair and a new food truck! It's sure to be an event you won't want to miss! (Boys and Girls Club will be closed on May 21 for this event.)
Thanks for being part of our awesome school community and for making Washington GT a place where every kid shines! Let's make it a great week at 1000 Fayetteville Street!
Magically,
Catie Burnette
Principal
Please take the WCPSS Family Survey!
We are half-way through the survey window and we still want to hear from YOU! Help us make your child’s school experience as positive and beneficial as possible by giving honest, thoughtful responses to the questions in our family survey from April 8 - May 17. bit.ly/WCPSSFamilySurvey

WCPSS is proud to present Letterland Days 2024
Throughout the week of May 13-17, different Letterlanders can be found at various locations around Pullen Park. Join us each day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. for a scavenger hunt to locate your favorite Letterlanders. On May 13 and May 16 from 5 to 8 p.m., additional fun and exciting themed activities will be located at stations around the park. Register for Letterland Activity Nights.
Lunch Visitors 🍕
We love when parents and family members come to eat lunch with their Wiz Kids. As a reminder, all students can invite two friends to join them for lunch. Together, you may sit at the side tables or in the courtyard.
If choosing to sit in the courtyard, please help us remind students that it is lunch time, not play time! After lunch, we appreciate your help with cleaning up. Please wait by the door and a staff member will let you back inside.
