It has been a busy first semester for Fine Arts and we have many teachers to celebrate! Congratulations to each of the Elementary, Middle, and High School Fine Arts Teachers of the Month for August, September, and October! These individuals have modeled exemplary disciplines in their classrooms. We are grateful to have them on our team and representing the district so well!

If you're looking for something fun to do, head over to WGHS on December 7 for the NAHS Arts & Crafts Fair & Student Art Show. There will be over 40 vendors, as well as a petting zoo with pony rides sponsored by DK Controls. Santa might visit as well!

Walnut Grove Art Students in Art 1 and Honors Art 1 have the opportunity to show off their work at the restaurant 11/17 located at 1910 N Stonebridge Dr STE 180 McKinney, TX. Go check it out and grab a bite to eat!

These are just some of the ornaments that each elementary school made for the Prosper Christmas Festival on December 7th from 3-7 PM at the Prosper Town Hall. Each elementary school will have their own decorated tree….a mini tree farm! Anyone is welcome to take an ornament from these trees as a keepsake.

Congratulations to Drew Beitel (PHS - trumpet) and Andy Cadena (RHHS - trombone) for making the All-State Jazz Band. We are so proud of them!

On Monday, November 11th, the the PHS Band competed in the UIL 6A State Marching Band Competition in San Antonio. This was a competition that started with over 250 6A bands in the state and had been narrowed down to the top 40 6A bands in the state. The band placed 16th overall, missing the finals competition by 2 places. This is the highest the band has ever placed at the 6A level!

On November 13th, the PHS Band traveled to Indianapolis to compete in the Bands of America Grand Nationals competition. The competition started on Thursday with 113 bands from across the nation. The band competed on Friday and advanced to the Semi-Finals competition on Saturday bringing the competition down to the top 35 bands. The band had an incredible performance Saturday morning, and secured a spot in the finals competition making them one of the top 12 bands in the nation. After another incredible performance, the band ended their season as the 11th place band in the competition. Well done!

Rock Hill HS Band was on the road this month! From the Melissa Marching Showcase where they placed 2nd in finals, the Bands of America HEB Regional Championship where they placed 12th in finals, the UIL Region 24 Marching Contest where they received straight first division ratings, the UIL Area J Marching Contest where they placed 11th overall in prelims and just missed making finals by one spot, to Bands of America San Antonio Super Regional Championship where they placed 7th in prelims! Well done to all the students for their tireless efforts and giving their all!

It has been a busy October for WGHS Band! They have accomplished so much, from placing 9th at the UIL Area Finals, traveling to the BOA San Antonio Super Regional and receiving its highest score to date, to having the Drumline compete at the Lone Star Classic. We are so extremely proud of our students for all of their hard work and hours of dedication to their craft.

Congratulations to these band members who earned a place in the 24-25 Prosper ISD All-District Band. Well done!

The Rushing MS Band celebrated our veterans by learning about the marches of the United States Armed Forces. The students had a great time learning their hymns and performed it in class to thank our veterans. We are grateful for your service, veterans!

Congratulations to the Talonettes from Prosper HS, Rockettes from Rock Hill HS, and Silver Elite from Walnut Grove HS for making history on Monday 11/4 at the Texas Dance Educator's Association (TDEA) Dance/Drill Team Field Assessment. All three groups brought home Division 1 ratings! Great work to all!
