Friday, February 14- No School for Students (Professional Development)

Monday, February 17- Presidents' Day Holiday

Last Friday, a group of AC Flora Engineering students participated in the Student Engineering Day at Midlands Technical College. The group, consisting primarily of 11th and 12th-grade students, was introduced to various engineering career pathways and academic programs offered at the college.

Throughout the day, students had the opportunity to visit each department, where they learned about program expectations, admission requirements, and more. They also heard from industry experts who shared their career experiences, providing valuable insights into the real-world applications of engineering.

The day concluded with a campus tour, giving students a chance to explore campus life and get a feel for the college environment. This exciting experience provided valuable exposure to potential career paths and the resources available at Midlands Technical College, helping to inspire the next generation of engineers. Palmetto Girls State Applications are now available

Any Junior interested in participating for the Palmetto Girls State Program this summer should stop by the School Counseling office for a copy of the application or click here. The Palmetto Girls State program is designed to immerse students in a real, functioning government, while meeting other students from across the state. Applications are due Friday, February 21.

Students are prohibited from using their cell phones or other personal electronic devices, such as smart watches, tablets, AirPods and gaming devices, during the school day – from the start of the school day until dismissal. Students must store their devices in their lockers, backpacks/bookbags or otherwise as directed by their schools. Students can click here to request a locker.

Valentine's Sweets from the PTSO During Lunch

On Thursday, February 13—Valentine's Day Eve—the PTSO will distribute sweet treats to students during lunch. To help, the PTSO is seeking donations of cookies, mini cupcakes, or any other store-bought Valentine's Day confections to be brought in by Wednesday, February 12. The PTSO also is seeking volunteers to help distribute treats on Thursday, February 13. Please sign up to help here.
