Getting to know our Founders better!
Greetings from Lee Anne
I have been avoiding Facebook for the most part since the election but was disturbed by a friend who was telling how glad he was to leave the southeast because of how narrow-minded and racist it was. I very politely posted that I was still in the South and I was working hard like many teachers to teach the future adults of our country to NOT see color and to respect one another. I reminded him that everyone of us has to keep our eyes focused...to keep making the right choices to positively impact the world around us. I told him I was going to let my little light shine.
And we really must do that, sisters. Let our lights shine in such a way that others see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16)
I love that our organization welcomes professionals of all races from nations around the world. I love that our organization celebrates the success of women educators and enables them to enhance their leadership skills to make a bigger impact. I love that our organization gives sacrificially to provide help to others. What a witness to the world Alpha Delta Kappa is in pursuing excellence, in understanding those who are different than ourselves, and in giving of ourselves-our time and our money-to make a difference.
I am mighty glad to be in this circle of love with YOU. Let's pass it on!
In sisterly love,
Lee Anne
