Where Learning is Fun!
Throughout the school year, students have opportunities to experience many different activities that enrich and compliment their classroom learning in many ways.
Some of these include special guests such as Artist in Residence programs,
STEAM assemblies and field trips.
During the month of March students had several different offerings in these areas.
Special Guest
As part of our progression as a STEAM Immersion School, we hosted Artist in Residence, Gail Glover for a mini-dance institute. Ms. Glover taught the children about patterns in African music and dance. It was all about STEM in Dance! The students and staff LOVED the experience
Field Trips
Elementary students in 3rd -5th Grades traveled to the South Carolina Govenor's School for Science and Mathematics in Hartsville. Students were able to explore this one of kind school that offers many STEM programs for students. The programs include summer camps for 3rd - 12th grades, a virtual engineering program for high school students and a residential high school program for 11th & 12th graders.
RES students know it is never to early to start thinking about the future!
Primary students had a wonderful time attending the theater.
They traveled to The Florence Little Theater to see the stage production of Peter Rabbit.
Students were also able to enjoy a Chic Fil A Lunch upon returning to school.
Easter Activities
Primary Students in grade 4K -2nd Grades had hopping good time, scrambling to find all the eggs and collect candy and some students even found money!
Students also had a chance to dye eggs and make some beautiful creations
🎊Celebrating Our Students🎊
There are many celebrations that take place throughout the school year to recognize student achievements. Students are rewarded with special lunches and treats and given certificates to document all they are accomplishing though the year.
Monthly recognitions are held for reading and completing assessments in Media/Library and for those students achieving the highest growth each month in their Dream Box and Exact Path lessons.
We also hold a Quarterly Award Ceremony to present awards to students who have achieved Honor Roll, Perfect Attendance and many other milestones within their classes.
Q3 Awards Celebration
We celebrated students' Q3 achievements in March. The next several weeks of Q4 will seem to fly by, so be sure to keep an eye out for our Awards and Completers Ceremonies that will be happening in May.
