Friday, February 7th - No School For Students
Dear Rowe Families,
Welcome back!
We hope you had a fantastic break and successful transition back to school day routines. Our staff and students have been hard at work reviewing and practicing our Rowe'd to Success goals this week. In fact, we have a brand new Mile Tile Board to fill out by being safe, respectful, and responsible.
As we start the second half of the school year, we want to remind you of a few important points to support a safe and efficient drop-off and pick-up process for everyone.
- Handicapped Parking: Please remember to only park in handicapped spots if you have a valid handicap plate or sign.
- Pre-K Parking: We kindly ask that you leave the designated pre-K parking spots open for our pre-K families. This helps them access the school more conveniently.
- Morning Supervision: The school's morning supervision begins at 8:35 AM. For the safety of all students, we ask that you do not drop your child off before this time. We appreciate your cooperation in following the designated schedule.
- End-of-Day Pick-up: When waiting for students at the end of the day, please wait on the basketball courts or toward the playground side of the front doors. This will allow ample room for students taking the bus to exit the building safely.
- Please be respectful of our neighbors in Sagamore and avoid parking along Purchas Street.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in following these guidelines. By working together, we can ensure a smooth and safe school environment.
Thank you for your continued support and Happy New Year!
Sincerely,
Bill Anton, Principal
Melissa Richard, Assistant Principal

- This event is open to immediate family members only.
- All students attending the dinner must be accompanied and supervised by their parent or guardian.

We look forward to seeing you there and sharing this meal as a community.

Cold Weather Reminders
Every January, we are reminded that "Old Man Winter" is alive and well! As we all know, many cold and snowy days will be ahead.
We urge you to do your best to send your children appropriately dressed for school during the winter months. Students need jackets, hats, and gloves/mittens to be safely protected from the cold during recess. We have recess outside every day unless the temperature is below 13 degrees (or the wind chill is below 13 degrees). This is a Portland Public Schools policy for every school in the district.
During snowy weather, children are expected to wear boots and snow pants if they wish to be out in the field area to play in the snow. If you need help getting these items to your child, don't hesitate to contact our SEL Team:
Amy Leonard - leonaa@portlandschools.org
Valerie Allen - allenv@portlandschools.org
Kate McAlaine - mcalak@portlandschools.org
We have a clothing closet well-supplied with winter gear, and each grade level has a bin with extra items for their grade level team. We are here to help!
Reminder: Please Label your Student's Winter Clothing!
