Principal's Message
Good evening, Bruin families-
I wish to thank everyone who voted for parent representatives to serve on our School Site Council. Our parent representatives are Lilia Aranda, Rosylin Bessard-Dayton
Donna Bickham, Luis Gonzalez and Roy Park. Hopefully, everyone is enjoying their break. Now is a perfect time to plan your outfits for the Homecoming Spirit Week.
I look forward to seeing everyone back on campus on the fourteenth of October for Homecoming week and ready to bring their School Spirit!
Sincerely-
Principal
Julie Hummel
Homecoming Spirit Week
Homecoming Dance is October 19th
Bear Creek's first Trunk or Treat
The event will be on Monday, October 28th from 5:30 - 7:30 in the Student Parking Lot. Each club/program will decorate one trunk of a car, van, truck, etc. in a Halloween/Harvest-related theme. Just like with trick or treating, each trunk will have something to hand out to kids such as candy, stickers, or other small goodies.

What is the PSAT? It is the practice exam for the SAT (and for juniors, it is the qualifying exam for the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test). The PSAT 8/9 version is for Freshmen. The PSAT NMSQT version is for Sophomores and Juniors.
Who should take the PSAT? All BCHS students thinking about attending a four-year college after graduation will benefit from this practice exam.
When is the PSAT Test? Bear Creek's PSAT date will be Friday, October 25, 2024. Reporting time is 8:30 AM. YOU MAY CONTACT OTHER DISTRICTS AND SCHOOLS TO INQUIRE ABOUT AVAILABILITY FOR OTHER DATES.
How much does it cost and where do I sign up? There is no exam fee for the 24-25 PSAT this year! Because we have a limited number of exams, the sign-ups are first-come, first-served. Sign ups are via google form through the Bear Creek PSAT web page.

Online Pre-Registration For 16 and 17 Year Olds
Online pre-registration is now available for eligible 16 and 17 year olds by visiting registertovote.ca.gov. California youth who pre-register to vote will have their registration become active once they turn 18 years old.
Pre-registration does not change the voting age, which is 18. Instead, it allows eligible Californians ages 16 or 17 to complete the online voter registration form providing sufficient time and opportunity to get ready to vote.
The new online pre-registration applies to California youth who are 16 or 17 and meet the following criteria:
- A United States citizen and a resident of California,
- Not currently serving a state or federal prison term for the conviction of a felony (for more information on the rights of people who have been incarcerated, please see the Secretary of State's Voting Rights Restored: Persons with a Prior Felony Conviction), and
- Not currently found mentally incompetent to vote by a court (for more information, please see Voting Rights: Persons Subject to Conservatorship).
