Weekly Recap
Summary of the Week:
It was great to see our students back today!!
As we return, don't forget to remind your student(s) to turn in their reading logs from the spring break week and to complete their final log for this week. All reading logs need to be turned in by next week, so that we can get the final count and see who will be joining our March Madness Reading Challenge Celebration later this month.
PTA Updates & Info:
If you have a student that is interested in the Girls on the Run program this spring, please turn in your applications by 4/4. The first practice will be on Wednesday, April 9th.
If you are hoping to participate in the school-wide bottle and can drive for the PTA, feel free to bring your contributions in any bag. We will have the PTA-marked bags available on the bulletin board near the office by tomorrow.
Many Thanks!!
SUN Registration:
SUN school starts back up on Tuesday, April 8th. It runs after school Monday-Thursday through Thursday, May 29th. If you are interested in registering your child or learning more here is the flyer for next term. Additionally, if you just want to get straight to the registration form here is the link.
SUN school typically fills up every term, so if you are interested I suggest completing the forms and the SEI registration ASAP so that you can be considered for spring term.
Ms. Ali plans to send out confirmations by this Wednesday, April 2nd.
March Madness Reading Challenge
This week is the final week of our March Madness Reading Challenge. Great work to all the students who have turned in their reading logs for the first four weeks! If your child has not turned their reading logs in for any of the weeks yet, please help them to complete their reading and sign it to ensure that they will get to attend the Celebration Dance Party in April. And remember, the more reading logs turned in the more fun that is "unlocked" for them to participate in. So continue to encourage your students to read, help them fill out and sign their reading logs, and remind them to bring them back to school in their school folders. HAPPY READING!
Fifth Grade OMSI Overnight Incentive Trip:
Tomorrow is the first day of April. If you have a fifth grader, this is the month that they are working to earn their OMSI Overnight Field Trip. We have been practicing each month and checking in with them regularly to remind them of this. We will only bring students on this field trip that have been able to keep their hands/bodies to self, use respectful words, and be where they are expected to be with 100% accuracy. Additionally, they will need to attend school consistently (90% or higher) in order to attend this field trip.
This is an extra bonus for those fifth graders that can demonstrate these basic expectations consistenly. It will cost families nothing, but we will only be inviting the students who can demonstrate these behaviors consistently for the entire month of April. The actual overnight will be Wednesday, May 7th - Thursday, May 8th. We will share out more details at the end of the month with the families of students who have earned this privilege.

Albina Baseball & Softball Opportunity:
Welcome back! This will be the Hopscotch Foundation's second season of Baseball/Softball, and you are invited to register your kid/kids for the 2025 season.
Last year was successful, and we are looking forward to an even greater year this summer to help encourage kids to play a game we all love. This year, kids will also be pitching rather than coach pitching like we did last year. As you know, this developmental league is after the Little League season. This is to get more reps to play Baseball and Softball when the weather is at its best. Last year, we had one or two cancelations due to the heat, but other than that, it was smooth sailing.
Please encourage your son or daughter's friends to join us as well.
We are looking forward to seeing you again.
Peace in your day
Gerald Bolden and Dave Gunderson
