Message From the Office

Dear Families,

CONFERENCE UPDATE

We want to thank you for taking the time to attend parent-teacher conferences this week. We had a 40% turnout rate. It was exciting to have you in the building and share the great things happening at JLHS. Your support is invaluable to our students' success.

FACILITIES COMMITTEE

Our USD 346 Facilities Committee met this week to tour the buildings. If you are wanting to be a part of this committee and missed the initial meeting please contact the district office.

CELL PHONES

We are requesting assistance with cell phones at school reminding students of the policy.

Students are permitted to use cell phones in designated areas and times as outlined below:

• Before School: Cell phone use is allowed.

• After School: Cell phone use is allowed.

• Lunch: Cell phone use is allowed.

• Passing Periods: Cell phone use is allowed.

Classroom and Academic Time

• When the Bell Rings:

• Cell phones must be silenced, stored away, and out of sight.

• During Academic Times:

• Cell phones are not to be used, including if students leave the classroom for

any reason.

The following are some events that are coming up. If you have any questions please stop by Mr. Kramer’s office or email bkramer@usd346.org

* For those Seniors that are needing help on anything from applying to college or even figuring out what they want to do after high school please stop by Mr. Kramer's office for help.

* Mr. Spencer and I were able to secure two $1,000 dollar scholarships for anyone that plans on an Engineering Technology degree at Pittsburg State. Please see Mr. Kramer if you are interested.

* 10-21 JH Winter Sports begin

* 10-24 Kansas State College Rep Visit @ JLHS (College Reps. will meet in Mrs. Slinkard's room from 8:50-9:30 am)

* 10-28 Allen Community College is hosting a College Planning Conference (CPC) on October 28, 2024. The CPC is scheduled from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Any interested junior or seniors are invited to attend. Please see Mr. Kramer if you are interested.

* 10-30 ACT-WORKKEYS Test for all Jayhawk-Linn Juniors @ JLHS 8am-12pm

*11-1 College of Technology Open House and Career Expo @ Pittsburg State University. Please see Mr. Kramer if you are interested. Click here for more information

* 11-8-24 FSCC John Deere Tech Open House 8:30 am-12 pm. If interested please email Mr. Kramer at bkrame@usd346.org . Click here for more information.

* 11-14-24 FSCC Senior Day 11am-2:30 pm. Click here to register / Click here for more information / For this event seniors usually are on their own to get down there but if that is a problem for anyone please let me know and we will see what we can work out. Seniors that plan on driving down need to have their parents call them in to excuse them for that day. If anyone needs help registering please email me or stop by my office.
