Thursday, August 22nd is picture day for SMS students, faculty, and staff.

Here is a link to the ordering information. There are also flyers and money envelopes in the office if parents/guardians prefer to order pictures via that method.

Retake day is September 26th.

The elective choices for sixth grade students are band, choir, and study hall.

If your child is currently in study hall, but has expressed interest in joining band, it is not too late. Please encourage your child to see Mrs. Hammons on Monday if they would like to join band.

As a reminder, students who choose band/choir are expected to stay in that class until after the first concert.

Mrs. Stephanie Kelley rejoined the faculty at Scottsburg MS this fall. She is the special ed teacher for sixth grade students with IEPs.

Mrs. Kelley was most recently a special ed teacher at Johnson Elementary, but has also been a sixth grade special ed teacher and an 8th grade special ed teacher at SMS.

Our fall sports season is underway.

Cross country, football, volleyball, soccer, and boys tennis are the SMS fall sports.

Students should listen to the afternoon announcements for information about practices and competitions.

Eventlink is the platform that we use to communicate with parents/family members regarding practices and events.

If you have questions about athletics, please contact Mrs. King at 812-752-8926 option 2.

For those of you who want/need to plan ahead, here are some important dates for the 2024-2025 school year:

September 2nd - no school

October 14-18 - no school

November 5 - eLearning day

November 11 - no school

November 27-29 - no school

December 23-January 3 - no school

January 20 - no school

February 21 - no school

March 24-28 - no school

May 22 - last day of school

The Scottsburg MS student handbook contains some updates for the 2024-2025 school year. Once again, the most significant changes took place in the attendance section.

We encourage you to read the handbook with your child(ren) and to contact us with any questions you may have.

Like many schools, we occasionally experience some supply/distribution delays. We will follow the posted menus when possible, but will have to make adjustments at times.
