Little Pirates Visit Emma Love
911 Dispatch Day
What a fantastic day of learning for our 911 Dispatch students!
TraumaOne Medivac and Station 30 Nassau County Fire/Rescue visited students at the Bean Center to explain how they serve public safety. Nassau County Sheriff’s Office Communications joined forces to offer their experiences. Students walked away with a better understanding of how services are coordinated so they’re ready to help those on the other side of the phone line.
Thank you, NCSO, NCEFR, and the TraumaOne Flight Team, for an incredible experience! Thanks also to FSCJ Nassau for coordinating facilities needs.

Flashes Career Day
Trees into Cartons, Cartons into Trees
Yulee Elementary's third-grade classes recently partnered with West Rock for an engaging session as part of the "TICCIT" (Trees into Cartons, Cartons into Trees) program. During this initiative, students delved into the world of sustainable forestry, discovering how trees serve as a renewable resource akin to fruits and vegetables. They explored the myriad uses of trees and paper, as well as the importance of recycling.
Volunteers from West Rock, based locally in Fernandina, generously shared various products made from trees and facilitated an interactive Q&A session. This provided students with valuable insights into trees, tree-based products, and recycling practices.
The highlight of the day was when students had the opportunity to plant seedlings in cardboard cartons, which they could later take home to plant with their families. The event was not only educational but also thoroughly enjoyable for both students and teachers alike.
