SISD Next Steps Night
An Evening You Don't Want to Miss!
Attention Seniors and Parents of Seniors! This Event is For YOU!
We're here to help make the college application process a little easier!
Join us for our first-ever Raider Next Steps Night on October 10th in the SHS library. We'll discuss the college application process, talk through the FAFSA and visit about some of the unique aspects of parenting seniors.
We're looking forward to seeing all of our seniors and their parents!
🚨🚨October 15th is PSAT Day at SHS🚨🚨
Here's What SHS Students and Parents Need to Know
The PSAT/NMSQT will be offered on October 15th to all 11th graders. Here is important information that our parents and students need to know:
1. Director of Advanced Academics and CTE Courtney Sharkey and SHS' CCMR Coordinator Prince Johnson sent communication to all 11th graders and any 9th and 10th graders who have chosen to take the PSAT that day (and their parents) which provided helpful study information. This information is below.
2. As mentioned, all 11th graders and any 9th and 10th graders will take the PSAT that day. Any 9th and 10th graders who DO NOT take the test will go to their typically scheduled classes that day.
3. Seniors will have late arrival that morning. They should check with their campus for their arrival time. Those who ride the busy will need to complete this bus form in order to be picked up that morning.

Taking the PSAT: Did You Know?
SISD will now fully fund the PSAT for all 11th graders.
We believe in challenging and nurturing every learner to reach their full potential, offering a diverse range of rigorous programs designed to foster critical thinking, creativity, and a passion for lifelong learning. As part of our strategic plan to build an intentional continuum of advanced academics in Sunnyvale ISD, we have adjusted the administration of the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT).
Starting this school year, all 11th-grade students will be provided with a fully funded opportunity to take the PSAT. This administration not only offers the chance to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Program—opening doors to scholarships and academic recognition—but also gives 11th graders a final opportunity to assess targeted areas for SAT preparation, as well as college, career, and scholarship matches.
Additionally, the CCMR Coordinator and Director of Advanced Academics, Prince Johnson is working closely with teachers to develop preparatory study plans ahead of the test. Students in grades 9 and 10 will have the option to opt into testing, offering valuable data to parents and educators regarding AP or Dual Credit readiness, potential interventions, and more.
Mission Statement:
The mission of Sunnyvale ISD is to engage, equip and empower all learners for life-long success.
