We loved seeing everyone at our Back to School Night!
Thank you Copper Mesa students and families for a fantastic Back to School Night. Huge thank you to Morgan Smith, Christine Tilt and Monica Kanack for organizing the night for us again this year! These ladies have done a fantastic job with this event for a few years now, and will be looking to pass the torch on planning next year’s event, so if you are interested in stepping in to help with that, please let us know!
We would love for you to share pics of your kids having fun @ coppermesayearbook@gmail.com with kiddos grades and names.
Congratulations to Ms. DeLeon’s class with the highest percentage of attendance, 87%! They will get to enjoy a pizza party from the PTO to celebrate!
Our first community PTO meeting is coming up on September 6th, at 8:45am in the cafeteria at CME. We will have breakfast snacks and coffee, and will be discussing the teacher grant requests, the volunteer committee options, and the Fall Fundraiser fund options. We may even be working on a little spot of entertainment from some of our students, so stay tuned for more information on that. ;) We hope to see lots of you there!
SAC Meeting 8/26 from 4-6pm
The ‘24-’25 School Accountability Committee will be starting very soon! Our principal is looking for more parents and community members to join us. Bonus…we bring snacks!
Here is what you can expect from this committee:
The School Accountability Committee (SAC) is
responsible for advising principals on budget
priorities and the development of school
improvement plans. Put another way, SACs act as
sounding boards for improvement strategies and how
schools and districts spend their money. Another equally
important role of SACs is to increase parent and community
partnerships.
SAC responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Advising the principal concerning the preparation of
the school’s Unified Improvement Plan (UIP).
• Making recommendations to the principal
concerning priorities for spending school funds.
• Gathering and providing information to the principal
on the needs or concerns of the school’s community.
• Helping school staff increase parent partnerships
with teachers, fostering the parents’ role in creating
students ’READ plans as well as habitual truancy.
• Helping school staff increase the level of overall
parent engagement with the school.
• Assisting the district in implementing it’s Parent
Engagement Policy [at the school level].
• Working to recruit people to serve on the SAC.
Volunteer Opportunities
Speaking of volunteering, we are currently looking for volunteers to help with teacher/staff appreciation, the daughter event, the son event, the yearbook committee, and the spring fundraiser. You can attend our first PTO meeting on September 6th to get all the information about these events, or if you can’t make it but still want to help, please fill out THIS FORM and we will email you the information after the meeting. All of the events that we put on for the school rely solely on volunteers, so if you are able to donate some time so that these events can happen, please do! We appreciate our volunteers so much!
We are also in search of parent reps for each classroom to help take pictures for our yearbook. So if you are signed up to volunteer for class parties, Thursday folders, or field trips this is a great opportunity for you to support the PTO! While you are already in the school or with the class, help us gather photos for the yearbook. Sign up for a classroom HERE

KING SOOPERS CARDS
One of our biggest and easiest fundraisers has proven to be King Soopers Cards. In just over a year our total donation received is in excess of $15,000. If you haven’t registered your rewards number (phone number) yet, please do so, it’s quick and easy and a great way to earn funds for our school.
