September's Word of the Month: EMPATHY
Capturing Kids' Hearts (CKH) is a program that aims to improve school culture by fostering positive relationships between educators and students. This month's lessons on empathy focus on teaching students to understand and share the feelings of others. This is achieved through activities that encourage active listening, open communication, and genuine concern for others' emotions. The goal is to help students develop a sense of compassion, reduce conflicts, and create a more supportive and inclusive school environment. By learning empathy, students can build stronger connections with their peers and teachers, promoting a more positive and effective learning experience. You can help by continuing these conversations at home!

PTO Fun Run 🏃
The Fun Run is an exciting PTO-sponsored fundraiser where Washington Elementary School students participate in a run (or jog or walk) to raise money for this amazing school. Leading up to the event, students gather pledges from family and friends for each lap they complete or a flat donation for participating. On the day of the Fun Run, students run or walk around a set course, having fun while exercising. The funds raised help support school programs, buy new equipment, or enhance learning activities. The Fun Run encourages physical fitness, teamwork, and school spirit while contributing to a great cause.
You will be receiving more information on this in the coming days, so keep your eyes and inboxes open!
