Our Winter Concert for band, strings, and chorus is scheduled for Thursday, December 19th, at 6:00 PM! If your child is in band, strings, or chorus, please put that date on your family’s calendar. Band, strings, and chorus students are required to attend the concert as part of their grade for those performing ensembles.

String students are to report to room 38, Mrs. Krause’s room, next to Cafeteria B, and band students are to report to room 11, Mr. Earley’s room, next to Cafeteria A. Students who are only in chorus are to report to room 38. Your child should wear a white shirt with black pants..
Please keep this paper for reference, and if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact your child’s music teacher. Thank you for all that you do! We look forward to your student’s performance!

November
Character Trait of the Month - Orderliness
Are you messy? Do you lose everything? Do you get frustrated wasting time looking for things you misplaced? Do you lose your homework? If you answered yes to any of those questions then you might need to work on orderliness. Orderliness means arranging things to make your day easier. Being unorganized tends to cause unnecessary stress. Getting organized takes some time at the beginning, but saves time, energy and stress in the long run. Are you wondering how to get organized? Start with the small things such as your backpack. Clean it out every night. Put items you need for the next morning somewhere you can grab and go such as by the front door. Once you've conquered the small things, move on to the big items such as a messy room. Give everything a place. Orderliness doesn't necessarily come naturally to kids. Parents please teach your child how to be organized. Organizational skills correlate with school achievement.
8 tips to help get your child organized
Break tasks into chunks
Make checklists and to-do lists
Teach calendar and time management skills
Establish daily routines
Introduce idea organizers
Use color-coding
Create fun memory aids
Create an organized work space
