Mrs. Darlene, Mrs. Bonnie, and Mrs. Patricia are the best! They genuinely care for everyone at GV and it shows! The cafeteria is always welcoming and inviting as these ladies serve as wonderful, caring role models full of encouragement, smiles, and fun!

PreK has been learning about insects. We went on a bug hunt and found a beetle, observed several bees and compared them to the worms in our worm farm. We built a Bug Hotel.

The 2nd graders had an amazing time on their field trip to Grandfather Mountain! They braved the famous swinging bridge and got up close and personal with some creepy critters while learning all about wildlife and the mountain's unique ecosystem. It was a day full of adventure, discovery, and fun!

The 2nd graders also GV celebrated School Lunch Hero Day by creating heartfelt cards for our amazing cafeteria staff. It was a great way to say thank you for all the hard work, kindness, and care they bring to our school every day. We are so lucky to have such dedicated lunch heroes!

Third grade had a fun day at Grandfather learning about local landforms, animals, and completing a measurement scavenger hunt!

Our 2nd graders had an exciting time with their 6th grade Science Pals this week! For this fun project, students teamed up to design and build protective boxes to keep an egg safe, even when dropped from a two-story building! Some eggs survived the fall, and some didn’t, but every student walked away with new knowledge, problem-solving skills, and a big smile.

Students didn't miss a beat after spring break and got right back into working through and completing some difficult math concepts! Awesome work!

It's talent show time! This week, students have gone over the expectations and procedures to follow if they want to audition for the upcoming talent show. If your child(ren) are interested, please fill out this Google Form by Tuesday, April 29th. Ms. Tate is trying a new company for this year’s keepsake fundraiser. Artsonia (https://www.artsonia.com/connect/H8YFHCY2) is a free, secure, online portfolio that will store images of student art projects from Kindergarten through 8th grade. Hunger & Health offers a backpack program that is able to deliver food directly to homes every 2 weeks. Each backpack contains a variety of child-friendly food items, and children up to the age of 18 are eligible to receive them.
