Principal's Message
Looking ahead to October, we are excited to meet for Parent Teacher conferences to discuss the growth and progress of your students. Conferences will be held Wednesday and Thursday of this week (Oct 2 & 3). Your classroom teacher has sent out a sign up. If you need it resent, please contact them.
The first nine weeks end on Oct 4th. Report cards will be sent home on Friday, October 18th. However, you are able to connect to infinite campus and see an update of your student's grades at any time.
I hope everyone has a safe and restful fall break! School will be out from Oct 7-11th. Class will resume on Monday, Oct 14th. We will hit the ground running with our color blast, kicking off our Walk-A-Thon. I am grateful for a smooth and positive first nine weeks of school. Thank you for the amazing partnership and family support this community continues to show ICIS.

Happy October and Happy Fall!!! We are almost through the first nine weeks and students are settling into their new routine and understanding classroom expectations. I have really enjoyed getting to know every student by going into each classroom and teaching emotional regulation lessons. The lessons help students understand that having big feelings/emotions are OKAY!! Students watched clips from Inside Out and learned about the four different Zones of Regulation; Green Zone (joy), Blue Zone (sadness), Yellow Zone (fear & anxiousness), and Red Zone (anger). Students were able to understand each emotion and practiced coping skills for each zone. My hope is for when a student feels out of control or overwhelmed, they will know and understand how to self-regulate or ask for help when needed. Please feel free to review these zones and ask your student what coping skills they would use. It was such a fun lesson and they had a lot to say!!
Enjoy Fall Break!!!
