Weekly Update

October 4, 2024

Parents,

As we move into next week, we will be having our first multi-age family activity of the year. Our multi-age families are one of the cornerstones of our character education work. During these activities, our entire school works to learn about different character traits and will also be working on service learning projects. Watching our students work together with their buddies and other family members is always a highlight for us.

Just a reminder, we will dismiss at 12:30 on Thursday, and our fall break is on Friday and Monday; we will not have school on those 2 days.

Picture Retake Day

Focus on Character

We will focus on curiosity this week. We define curiosity as being eager to know or learn something. Curiosity is an intellectual core value that was added to Oak Brook's Core Values after or community chose that value to add to our work. In our Focus on Character that was sent home yesterday, we shared with you numerous opportunities to foster curiosity at home. We hope you find those ideas helpful as you talk with your kids to foster their curiosity.

Parkway Nutrition Services

Attached below is the first Quarterly Nutrition Services newsletter of the 2024-2025 school year, which includes a survey for staff & parents to complete.

The Nutrition Services is currently undergoing an evaluation, and they would greatly appreciate if you would take time to provide feedback.
